Thomas R. Frierson (also known as Skip) is a judge of the Tennessee Court of Appeals Eastern Section. He assumed office on February 14, 2013. His current term ends on September 1, 2030.
Frierson ran for re-election for judge of the Tennessee Court of Appeals Eastern Section. He won in the retention election on August 4, 2022.
Frierson was appointed to this seat on February 14, 2013, by Republican Governor Bill Haslam to succeed Judge Herschel Franks, who retired in December 2012.[1][2][3] Frierson was retained in 2014.[4]
Frierson was one of nine candidates for the Tennessee Supreme Court seat vacated by former Justice Gary Wade, who retired in September 2015.[5]
Education
Frierson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in 1980 and his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1983.[3]
