Biography
Bernard Moody was born in Portland, Maine. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1977 to 1981. Moody's career experience includes working as a corrections sergeant.[1]

My name is Bernard Moody and I am running for the Senate Seat of the 38th district, Everett, Marysville, Tulalip and Hat Island.
Started serving my country at the age of 17 by joining the Marines. Continued with employment as a Merchant Marine before becoming a Corrections Professional where I have been for the last 30 plus years. I have worked as a Union Steward and organizer. I was instrumental in forming the current labor group for the Snohomish County Corrections Bureau.
When it comes to knowing and or understanding those that are trapped in drug additions, criminal behavior and the hopelessness of homelessness, some might claim a bird's eye view of the problem but I have had a behind the scenes look at the lives, minds and brokenness of those lost in adictions, crimes and despair.
As your Senator I will bring a unique perspective to the legislative process that can be used to passing better bills and ofter better programs that have the persons benefit in mind instead of statistics stats. It's ok to give someone a fish but also teach them how to fish as well.
I will also work to rebuild the broken economy that has resulted from the shut down of our businesses. Giving attention to building our state and local economies first. Getting people back to work instead of putting them on government programs. Build vocational programs that don't leave the people in them in debt before they even learn how to do the jobs.
- Our government workers work for the people. We have to help our communites to thrive and as we do we are better able to offer help to those less fortunate then we are.
- Return justice to the criminal justice system. Keep criminals off the streets and protect the peoples of our cities and state first.
- Addressing the brokenness of our society with life building therapeutic programs that offer hope and help. Rebuild the family unit and restore the unity of our society.
Drug addictions. Recovery Programs. Homelessness and services to those that can't make it without the help. Strengthen families and or services that are ground zero. Renewing our education system teaching them about service to country and communities that they live in. Partnering with businesses and companies to offer entry level training programs and vocational benefits without the high cost of learning.

Many in my district feel that our current state government have been over-reaching in its authority. Many of those that are currently in office are complaining that they don't understand why the Governor has not called for a special session to deal with the declining local economy.
