The city of San Antonio, Texas, held general elections for mayor and all 10 of its city council seats on May 6, 2017. Candidates had to earn a majority of the votes cast in this election to win. Any race where no candidate received a majority (50 percent plus one) of the general election votes cast for that position advanced to a runoff election on June 10, 2017. Ana Sandoval defeated incumbent Cris Medina, Michele Dalbis-Robledo, Marco Reyes, and Alfredo Esparza Colunga in the general election for the District 7 seat on the San Antonio City Council.[1]

Holding the City Manager accountable and responsible for the day-to-day and fiscal operations of the City through Council direction and performance evaluations. 4. Continuously seeking community input and feedback on city projects and policies. 5. Listening to and advocating for the needs of all the residents in City Council District 7.
What legacy would you like to leave?
By the time I leave public life, I want to ensure that: 1. San Antonio has reduced the existing 20-year life gap between the residents of our most and least affluent neighborhoods. 2. San Antonio has a reliable public transit system and diverse transit options that every resident desires to and can easily utilize. 3. San Antonio has walkable communities that are safe and connect residents to schools, parks, and other community assets. 4. San Antonio is a leader on government transparency. 5. San Antonio increases public participation at city meetings and for all elections. 6. San Antonio implements and achieves environmentally sustainable practices that will keep our city in attainment.
