Amos Scott Powers was a 2016 Democratic candidate for District 42 of the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Powers was a 2014 Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House to represent the 6th Congressional District of Tennessee.[1] He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.[2] He was defeated by incumbent Diane Black (R) in the general election on November 4, 2014.[3]

Powers earned his B.A. in political science from Tennessee Tech University. At the time of his candidacy, Powers was working toward an M.A. in diplomacy. He served for two years in the AmeriCorps Program.[4]
