I have been having so much fun working day and night : )
creating for the various swaps for which I just couldn't resist signing up.
♥♥♥ Love, love a Valentines theme! ♥♥♥
Here is the finished matchbox I made for my partner in
Vintage Dragonfly's Altered Matchbox Swap:
I sandwiched a small matchbox between
two graduated-sized chipboard hearts (Maya Road),
which I covered in pretty papers...
a larger scalloped-edged heart on the bottom and a smaller heart on the top,
so that you can see both hearts. Except it's a bit hard to see in this picture!
Gessoed the edges, added some glittery scrolls, tulle, cupid,
forget-me-nots, and made a little banner.
We were also to includes some mini-sized ATCs to fit in the box:
AND, I finally got myself to the thrift stores, and did pretty well.
I got this hand crocheted table scarf, the silver plated dishes
(one of which is a two piece serving dish),
the two plates and adorable valentines for $20!!
How cute will those plates be for Valentine's Day with my Valentine?
They're probably not terribly vintage,
but they are Spode, made in England.
Love these true vintage valentines:
