Allison & Gabe’s wedding day started like every other – excitable, elegant, stylish and full of lurrrrve – then night fell and the chaos and fun of rock star proportions ensued! I love how the couple’s attire matches their mood – beginning of the day – excited, demure and classy (I adore Allison’s simple dress which she got on sale in Bloomingdale’s), end of the night – ruffled and rocking the hell out (and again I adore Allison’s dress – which she actually made herself – she bought a basic tutu from Etsy but the rest was all her own work!) In fact it wasn’t just the bride who changed – the whole wedding party got changed (the women from pastels into black ruffles – again make by the bride from tutu’s found on Etsy – and the men into dinner suits) for the massive party at the end of the night!
Photographer Inbal me all about the madness,
Allison and Gabe had a ceremony on a boat in the east river, incorporated marriage rituals from basically every religion they could think of (and made up a few of their own), and later had their reception at the Princess Manor in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, who also catered. They had ice sculptures made in their likeness! Kenley from Project Runway crashed the wedding! The bride got so drunk she lost her shoes (I gave her mine and she still has them)! As you can see, they partied pretty hard and made their own rules.
Thanks to Inbal for sharing and of course to Allison & Gabe for being too freakin’ awesome for words!

Off the Hook Carnival Eye Candy

I knew Amy & Jesse's wedding would be off-the-hook with it's intense awesomeness as soon as I saw and blogged their engagements a while back. Surely a couple this offbeat and rockin' couldn't have anything but a super crazy, kooky, inspirational and incredible wedding day could they? However, even I was blown off my chair when I laid eyes on these little beauties. Their DIY, carnival wedding was not only ridiculously creative and awe-inspiring but the couple themselves literally looked like a candy covered explosion of kick ass attitude and fun all over! (By the way I fully realise that my explanation of my thoughts on this wedding probably make little or no grammatical and linguistical sense - however my intense excitement over getting to blog these appears to have rendered by logical brain dysfunctional!) Got it? Right...on with the show...
A HUGE Rock n Roll thank you to Marina of Red Heart Photography for sending these over. I couldn't wait to blog these (as always) and so the photos below are actually only part 1 & 2 of her posts. Go check out her blog over the next few weeks for even more eye candy!

December 3, 2014
Chris and Kimberley wanted an unconventional and small wedding in the city where they met: Belfast. "We knew we didn't want a religious service or a big wedding", began the bride. "We didn't want to spend our wedding day talking to people we didn't know or didn't want to! We had 38 guests, which was perfect."

A Simple & Homely Wedding in Milan: Roberto & Cherie
Kat
February 1, 2012
Italian Roberto & Chinese Cherie planned their Milan wedding from other sides of the world, "Until 2 months before the wedding, we had lived in 2 different countries (Hong Kong and UK) for 16 months, " Cherie told me. "I had taken a sabbatical to spend time with my family in Hong Kong and the majority of our ideas exchange and planning was done on email or Skype. We found the organising super boring, couldn’t wait to party on the day!"
The couple met in London and so filmed their Save the Date video in the city, and they actually ended up having two weddings (the Italian one pictured and another in Hpng Kong) so it really was a multicultural, multinational affair!

Nicola & Steve’s Intimate New York City Wedding

Happy New Year!
I'm starting 2011 with a bang, and the wedding of loyal Rock n Roll Bride reader Nicola to Steve. The couple, from Northern Ireland, were married in New York and Nicola spent a lot of her planning time on Rock n Roll Bride - in fact when she emailed me her wedding submission, I actually recognised her name from all the comments she'd left along the way. It was almost like we were old friends, so of course I I said yes to featuring her gorgeous Rock n Roll New York wedding on these pages.

Describing their wedding theme as "relaxed, welcoming and a little bit farmy", Erin and Adrian ultimately aimed for a down-to-earth and relaxed atmosphere. Their love for nature and passion for sustainability played a significant role in shaping the day, from their outdoor ceremony, their use of native flowers and even the bride's sustainable dress, which was made from the fabric of the one her mother wore when she got married.
