History
While repairing the Web of Life and Destiny, the Patternmaker inadvertently touched the Primal Strand of the Web, releasing the Elder Goddess Shathra. Shathra sent a Spider-Wasp to sting her, corrupting Annie and transforming her into Shathra's Nestling.[1] Shathra then personally turned the Noir Spider-Man[2] while sending swarms of wasps through the Great Web to turn other spiders across the Multiverse, transforming them into her servants who formed a Hive at the center of the Great Nest. Shathra was opposed by a small team led by Madame Web and Spider-UK, but their war against her was a losing one, and Shathra eventually managed to convert, capture or kill almost all Spider-Totems in the entire Multiverse.[3]
When Shathra's reign was at its peak and her full dominion was at hand, her plans were undone shen Silk stabbed Morlun with the Totem Dagger.[4] This instantly freed all Spider-Totems from Shathra's control, reverting them back to their normal selves. Peter Parker of Earth-616 then used a Great Web Shooter to banish Shathea to a different plane of existence.[5]See Also
