Notes

  • This is the first film in the Deadpool franchise to take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it is also the first film in the MCU to be rated-R.
  • Originally slated to be released on September 6, 2024, the film was rescheduled to be released on November 8[15] and later May 3 of that same year,[16] before finally landing its July 26, 2024 release date.[17]
  • While the film identified Deadpool's home reality as "Earth-10005," presumably based on the designation which was assigned to the original X-Men in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z #4, it was established in X-Men: Days of Future Past as a revised timeline diverging from Earth-10005 in 1973.
  • The film also identifies the events of the film Logan as taking place within "Earth-10005" though it had previously been identified as taking place in the alternate future. This can be explained as Earth-17315 only being a possible future[18][19][20][21][22] and from the TVA's perspective, given they exist outside conventional time, the main events there already happened.

Trivia

  • The movie's ending was tweaked during reshoots at the urging of Ryan Reynolds' wife Blake Lively. Originally, Deadpool and Wolverine's survival after destroying the Time Ripper was never in question, as they are immediately shown to have survived the film's climax. According to director Shawn Levy, Lively urged for the movie to linger on revealing the titular character's survival, expressing, "You know, I've been with you this whole movie. I want to sit in the fear that they're lost. Let me be in that place of suspense so the triumph of their survival is more emotional and visceral." The reshot content included Mr. Paradox's impassioned speech before he is disrupted by the heroes' return to the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris."[23]
