David Kawena is a supporting character in the 2025 live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch. He is an eighteen-year-old Native Hawaiian fire dancer and lifeguard who is kind to Nani.
He is based on the character of the same name from the 2002 animated film.
Trivia[]
- Kahiau Machado was originally cast in the role, but he was recast shortly thereafter due to his prior usage of a racial slur.
- Casting calls for the film previously stated for him to be a community college student. However, he is not shown doing any studying or attending college in the final film, suggesting that this detail was dropped during production or pre-production.
