Neutral characters

These characters have impartial or mixed morality, or have no morality at all (e.g. regular animals), meaning they are neither heroes or villains.

At times, these characters can perform acts of justice or injustice inconsistently. A neutral character can also be an average civilian with no true or conscious involvement in the main plot of a story.

Furthermore, some of these characters may evolve into legitimate heroes or villains over time.
