Description[]
The House of Solon is a ducal family within the Vasilios Empire. Since the alleged assassination attempt on the emperor, the Solon family has been publicly denounced and declared as traitors to the nation. Their tarnished reputation and formidable presence have garnered hatred and fear amongst the civilians of the empire.
History[]
The House of Solon was once a powerful and influential family within the Vasilios Empire. Thesion Solon, the duke and head of the Solon family, had close political ties with the imperial family. Ten years prior to the current timeline, Thesion proposed a solution that allowed the imperial knights to gain hands-on experience defending neighboring territories while the empire avoided a terrible famine. When the empire successfully defended the empire's borders, Emperor Vasilios was impressed by the duke's insight and rewarded him for his great contributions to the empire.[1] The relations between the House of Solon and the imperial family significantly improved after the war was over. As a result, Emperor Vasilios proposed to wed his son, Crown Prince Eros Orna Vasilios and first heir to the throne, to Medea Solon.[1] Eros, however, defied his father's wishes and insisted on hosting a competition to select the future Crown Princess. Medea Solon and Psyche Callista were summoned to compete against one another for the position.[2] Though Medea singlehandedly won all three rounds of the competition and personally impressed Emperor Vasilios with her intellect, the Pope of Vasilios declared Psyche as the winner. Eros professed his undying love to Psyche, gaining the public's approval and forcing Emperor Vasilios to finally abandon Medea as his future daughter-in-law.[3]
Shortly after Psyche Callista was named the future Crown Princess, Emperor Vasilios was poisoned by a necklace sent from the House of Solon. The House of Solon was declared alleged traitors for attempting to assassinate a member of the imperial family. Duchess Solon was imprisoned for her crime, and all political ties between the House of Solon and the imperial family were thus severed.[4]
