Your Throne (하루만 네가 되고 싶어; Haruman nega doego sipeo, translated as I Want To Be You, Just For A Day) is a manhwa original webtoon created and illustrated by SAM (Korean: 삼). It was released on NAVER Webtoon on January 6, 2020. Its popularity eventually led to LINE Webtoon releasing an official English translation on May 15, 2020. It is currently a featured series and is the subject this wiki is documenting information on. This wiki is dedicated to creating an updated, comprehensive database of this webtoon.
The story follows main protagonists Medea Solon and Psyche Callista, who become archenemies after competing for the position of Crown Princess of the Vasilios Empire. On the day of the Yearly Prayer, Medea and Psyche accidentally switch bodies. Medea is now engaged to Eros Orna Vasilios, the crown prince, while Psyche struggles to deceive close acquaintances of Medea, including Helio Niccolo, the young marquess and Medea's childhood friend.
Tensions are brewing under the seemingly calm surface of the Vasilios Empire, a kingdom ruled by the Imperial Family and the Temple. Lady Medea Solon has lost her place next to Crown Prince Eros, but resolves to do whatever it will take to win back what's rightfully hers. Will she reclaim her throne?
Medea Solon: One of the main protagonists of Your Throne. She is the eldest daughter in the House of Duke Solon and is childhood friends with the young Marquess Helio. Though well-known for her cunning, intelligent personality, she lost to Psyche as the runner-up candidate to the position of crown princess. Soon after the announcement of Psyche and Eros's engagement, Medea and Psyche switched bodies. Since then, Medea takes on the appearance of Psyche and waits to officially take her seat as the crown princess.
Psyche Callista: The second protagonist of Your Throne. She is the only daughter in the House of Count Callista and is engaged to Eros Orna Vasilios after beating Medea in the crown princess contest. She is well-known for her radiant beauty and gentle nature. After switching bodies, she is forced to adopt a cold, devious facade to pass as Medea.
Eros Orna Vasilios: The crown prince and first heir to the throne of the Vasilios Empire. He is engaged to Psyche and in charge of overseeing empire affairs in place of the ailing king, who is recovering from a recent assassination attempt. He appears to harbor an ardent love for Psyche.
Helio Niccolo: The young marquess in the House of Niccolo. After losing his parents in an accident, Helio befriended Medea and grew to become a reputable, distinguished noble, rapidly restoring the name of the fallen Niccolo House. He is close friends with Medea, whom he is willing to lay down his life for.
Volume 1 Special Edition was released with a 22-page side-comic depicting an alternate universe where the main characters of Your Throne are casted in a modern-day drama.[1]
Volume 2 Special Edition was released with a nine-page side-comic depicting the days Psyche Callista lived in the basement beneath the Callista manor.[2]
Your Throne contains many allusions to Greek mythology, including the names of the main cast.
The names Medea, Psyche, Eros, and Helio are derived from the Greek words Μήδεια Mēdeia, ψυχή, Ἔρως, and Ἥλιος Hēlios respectively.
On September 27, 2021, a promotional video teasing the voice cast for the upcoming Your Throne Audiobook was released. Three additional teaser trailers were released in the subsequent days revealing the voice actors for the webtoon’s main cast.[3]
Your Throne’s full voice cast list was released on October 3, 2021, in the official trailer for the webtoon’s audiobook.[4]
The Webtoon’s voice cast was taken into careful consideration by webtoon’s author, SAM and voice actor Kang Soo-Jin.
Kang Soo-Jin is a South Korean voice actor best known for many notable roles such as Professor Moriarty (Sherlock), Shinichi Kudo (Detective Conan) and Saeran Choi from the popular otome game Mystic Messenger.[5]
