زندگی کی تیز اتنی اب روانی ہو گئی

بات جو سوچی وہ کہنے تک پرانی ہو گئی

عام سی اک بات تھی اپنی محبت بھی مگر

یہ بھی جب لوگوں تلک پہنچی کہانی ہو گئی

خوف کی پرچھائیاں ہیں ہر در و دیوار پر

اپنے گھر پر جانے کس کی حکمرانی ہو گئی

زندگی کے بعد اخترؔ زندگی اک اور ہے

موت بھی جیسے فقط نقل مکانی ہو گئی

zindagi ki tez itni ab rawani ho gai
baat jo sochi wo kahne tak purani ho gai

aam si ek baat thi apni mohabbat bhi magar
ye bhi jab logon talak pahunchi kahani ho gai

KHauf ki parchhaiyan hain har dar-o-diwar par
apne ghar par jaane kis ki hukmarani ho gai

zindagi ke baad 'aKHtar' zindagi ek aur hai
maut bhi jaise faqat naql-e-makani ho gai
