The company needed to improve its hourly billing system as consultants
sometimes worked beyond expected hours, and this necessitated requests
for Mirador to ask their clients for extra payment. By using TimeCamp to
track work hours, Mirador achieved more accurate billing, increased
client satisfaction, and streamlined timesheet submissions and meeting
planning.

Meet the experts
Mirador Analytics specializes in analyzing the risk of data
disclosure in healthcare. They offer advice, statistical analysis,
and their own automated solutions, which can grow with customer
needs, to help healthcare organizations show that people's records
are de-identified enough to keep their privacy safe.
Around 60 employees at Mirador Analytics support clients
throughout the de-identification process, and work alongside the
legal and privacy teams, to make sure that maximum privacy is
reached.
In November 2021, Mirador Analytics was acquired by Datavant, the
leader in data logistics for healthcare. Alongside the Mirador
team, they announced their Privacy Hub offering to raise the bar
for patient privacy and compliance across the healthcare industry.

Identify the needs
Each month, Mirador Analytics assigns a set number of hours to
each client. The company's consultants aim to complete projects
within the designated time frames. But what if the hours are
exceeded for some reason?
How should the consultants communicate the need for additional
payment to the client? And how can they prove it was necessary?
Project managers at Mirador faced all these dilemmas, which
inspired them to start using a time tracking app. The first
tracker they used was too complicated for employees, only to
exacerbate their existing struggle with timekeeping.
Mirador wanted their ideal time tracker to include a feature that
separates time logs for in-house projects and trainings from those
for client work. This would help their management to easily
distinguish billable from non-billable work on their performance
reports.
Time tracking, to be effective, must first of all be easy to use.
The time tracker Mirador Analytics used before wasn't designed for
that, so keeping track of time was tiring and often caused
mistakes. Plus, if the internet went down while logging hours, the
system might lose the data, which was a major issue.
Being able to export data for other metrics was a big part of why
they needed time tracking software. The old tool's user interface
wasn't great for tracking time since it was mainly built for
managing projects.
Fortunately, they came across TimeCamp!
Our software's interface is easy to set up so the implementation
went smoothly. The experts at Mirador Analytics decided to create
extensive project structures in TimeCamp, making it easy to track
time for particular clients or tasks.
TimeCamp's custom views feature helps project managers see how
much time is spent on each project. They can also check each staff
member's time to make sure they're balancing client work with
personal development.
Mirador Analytics managers say that TimeCamp software has
eliminated time loss problems they experienced with the previous
system. This improvement lets them bill clients accurately.
I love the customizable time view - this allows us to track client
hours used to their contractual agreements, as well as to provide
our clients with an overview of how time is spent across their
ongoing projects. We can also see how client hours fluctuate
month-to-month, which allows us to better pre-emptively plan
resource assignments. The whole system is user-friendly and easy
to navigate around, even for new starts.

Enjoy the outcomes
Since Mirador Analytics began using TimeCamp, each department has
found it beneficial for daily tasks. Data scientists appreciate
the timer feature, which tracks their entire workday
automatically, eliminating the need for manual timekeeping.
Project Managers value the ability to schedule meetings in advance
or use Google Calendar integration to efficiently manage
timesheets, freeing up time for other responsibilities.
Custom reports have streamlined client reporting, allowing for
quick preparation of summaries by task or team. Additionally,
these reports can be easily exported in any preferred format.
Positive feedback: Our best reward
Hearing positive feedback from the company's employees and
managers is the ultimate validation for us. Mirador Analytics is
clearly pleased with the outcomes they're seeing with TimeCamp.
Project Managers save time as meetings automatically sync from
their calendars to timesheets. Data Scientists enjoy the
simplicity of the system, avoiding the hassle of constantly
engaging with the time tracker while working, even offline. Plus,
if needed, a customized report with all necessary details can be
swiftly prepared for clients in just a few minutes.
