CORALVILLE — A&W has returned to the Corridor for the first time in many years, thanks to a new Coralville opening.
The new “All American Food” restaurant opened in early October at Coral Ridge Mall, according to a social media post from the shopping center.
Owners Atul and Sandy Patel previously owned and operated an Orange Julius and Karmelkorn Shoppe for 25 years, according to an announcement from Coral Ridge Mall.
One of the last known A&W locations in the area, near the corner of K Avenue and Ellis Boulevard NW in Cedar Rapids, was closed by the flood of 2008. That location never returned, even as other nearby restaurants and shops came back to the area.
Other locations open around Eastern Iowa include Burlington, Davenport, Dubuque, Mount Pleasant and Sigourney. A&W Restaurants has 12 locations across Iowa.
