Provincial Environmental Education Centers (PEEC’s) based in secondary schools have been established in 31 provinces under support of the Department of the Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP).
The role of the centers is to: develop and implement environmental education in schools and communities; create networks; and disseminate information and materials. TEF was tasked to assess the quality of the centers and to conduct trainings to strengthen the capacity of the PEEC staff in 38 centers from 31 provinces as well as to provide technical support for future development. The Bring Back the Smile Project was designed for tsunami affected schools in Phang-nga Province. This project built capacity for 50 schools on Ecological Agriculture and Environmental Education.

The SEET project aimed at developing models for environmental education with an emphasis on whole-school development within primary and secondary schools. This project emphasized collaborations between governmental agencies and NGOs that support educational reform and decentralization. TEF was selected to work with 11 schools in the Chachoengsao Province.
