"The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic."
-Psalm 29:4
One of my greatest wishes in this life is to hear the audible voice of the Lord. Without a doubt, I've felt nudgings and promptings from the Holy Spirit, but to actually hear the voice of God would take the cake. One day, all will hear His voice and it will be unmistakable because of its power and majesty.
However, we can still experience this power and majesty today, as they aren't found solely in the volume or actual sound of God's voice, but in the words of the voice. As I write this, my Bible is open and on my lap. It's filled with the very words of God, which hold the same power and majesty. These words of the Lord are meant for you and me today. We don't have to wait to hear the audible voice of God, as awesome as that would and will be. We have access now!
Listen, I know many respond to the Bible with, "I'm just not much of a reader." Lovingly, I'd like to say, "So what?" If you've made it this far in this message, this is way more reading than would be necessary in Scripture for a month. It's not how much you read, it's more how you digest it. I have found reading and repeating a verse or two over a week is most helpful. It may be different for the next person but my point is you don't have to read much to feel the significance of the power and majesty. Just try it the rest of July. Do a verse a day, every few days or a week. Write it down, put it in your pocket. Set it as a reminder on your phone. Get a daily verse app. We have no excuses. You can do it and it will fill you in a way you've never been filled before.
