Competitive research programs
The competitive research programs that AS researchers can apply for are divided into three major types based on the nature of the project and the scope of the grant:
Type 1: This type is for in-depth basic research that makes the best better, including Career Development Awards, Investigator Awards, and Thematic Research Program Projects.
Type 2: This type aims to achieve breakthroughs in critical topics and emerging fields, and includes the Grand Challenge Program Seed Grant Projects and Grand Challenge Program Projects.
Type 3: This type is mission-oriented.

Academic Research Awards
In order to implement Academia Sinica’s legal mandate of rewarding academic research and encourage scholars in the humanities and social sciences to publish monographs, as well as to encourage young scholars to conduct in-depth research and make significant contributions, Academia Sinica has respectively established the “Scholarly Monograph Award in the Humanities and Social Sciences” and “Academia Sinica Early-Career Investigator Research Achievement Award.”
