6. METHODOLOGY
The methodological strategy that guides this course has been designed for the face-to-face modality and incorporates an active and
participatory methodology for the student, promoting learning, collaborative work, the integration of technological tools and evidence-based
learning.
In the Canvas Educational Platform (virtual learning space), students will find study materials organized by week; and they will have to complete
a series of virtual activities (forums, self-assessments, virtual tasks) that will allow them to check their learning of the topics.
The geometric design of road sections is of great importance in the comprehensive training of Civil Engineering students. Based on knowledge
and application of theories, regulations, studies and software for the formulation and evaluation of designs. It is important for the achievements
to promote collaborative work based on evidence, applying methodological strategies of observation, case analysis, videos, readings, examples,
practical exercises, field trips, analysis and discussion of cases, answering questions, and individual tasks. Finally, the presentation of the
design of a road section, including the relevant studies, regulations and concepts reviewed in the course.
The teacher involves students in their active participation, with the aim of achieving the consensual construction of knowledge. The teacher will
also provide advice on the development of consultation forums and assigned tasks. It is recommended to review the course contents posted on
Canvas every day.

7. EVALUATION SYSTEM
The final average will be calculated as follows:
(10%)PC1 + (10%)PC2 + (10%)PC3 + (10%)PC4 + (30%)LC + (30%)EXFI

Notes on Evaluation Formulas:

1. Only the Final Exam may be failed.
2. The late exam includes the contents of the entire course
3. No qualifying practice is eliminated
4. The minimum passing grade is 12 (twelve)
5. The graded practices evaluate theoretical and practical knowledge from class (16 points) and from independent work (4 points). If the
evaluation is purely practical (20 points)
6. In the event that a student does not take a graded practice (PC) and, therefore, obtains NS, this is replaced with the grade obtained in the
final or deferred exam.
7. In the event that the student has more than one graded practice not taken, only the graded practice with the greatest weight is replaced.
8. It is not necessary for the student to complete any procedure for this replacement to take place.
9. The graded laboratory corresponds to the average of the computer laboratory practices and field trips.
