B. Profile of the Training

i. Title of the Activity:
""Roots of Resilience: Growing a Safer Tomorrow"
ii. Rationale
Bayugan City Senior High School recognizes the looming threats
posed by natural disasters and climate change. The campus is not immune
to the dangers of floods, landslides, and soil erosion. To proactively mitigate
these risks, we propose a tree planting activity.
Trees serve as our natural allies in this endeavor. Their roots stabilize
the soil, reducing the risk of erosion during heavy rains. In times of flooding,
they act as sponges, absorbing excess water and helping lower floodwater
levels. Moreover, trees contribute to better air quality by absorbing carbon
dioxide and releasing oxygen.
This tree planting activity is not just about creating a more resilient
school environment; it's also a platform for nurturing environmental
awareness and a sense of responsibility among our students and staff. As
we actively participate in planting trees, we forge a deeper connection to the
land and a commitment to safeguarding it for future generations.
The impact of this initiative goes beyond the immediate future. The
trees we plant today will continue to grow and thrive, becoming a lasting
testament to our dedication to disaster risk reduction and environmental
conservation.
In conclusion, this tree planting activity is our way of taking concrete
steps towards a safer and more sustainable tomorrow for our school and the
broader community.
