The following is an assessment of the theatre class I give students to keep in their three-ring
binder for reminders during their studies.

I (Name of student) understand that Theatre Assessment is really important in our theatre class
because it helps us see how we're doing and what we've learned. Let's talk about how our teacher
will evaluate us:

1. Joining in Class Activities and Discussions:

- I should participate in class discussions and share my thoughts and ideas.
- I need to work well with others in group activities and listen to everyone's ideas.
- I should respect what my classmates say and think.

2. Doing Well in Individual and Group Exercises:

- I'll get chances to show how I've improved in acting, like using my body and voice, creating
characters, and showing emotions.
- When I perform alone or with a group, I should use what I've learned about things like
moving on stage and working well with others.
- I need to be a good team member and help the group do their best.

3. Finishing Assignments and Projects:

- I must complete my work on time and make sure I do it carefully. This could be writing about
plays, studying characters, making drawings, or researching.
- I need to think and understand what we learn in class and show it in my writing.
- I should be creative and try my best when I make things like models of sets or drawings of
costumes.

4. Writing about My Thoughts and Experiences:

- I'll have chances to write about how I've grown, what I've learned, challenges I faced, and
things I did well in theatre.
- When I write, I need to think and share my ideas and say how I feel I'm doing with acting and
working with others.
- I should try to connect what I learned in class to what I do on stage.

5. Final Performance or Presentation:

- At the end of the class, we will have a big show or presentation to show what we've learned.
- I should act well during this performance, use my voice and body effectively, and connect
with the audience.
- I must be serious, ready for the performance, and act professionally.

Mr. Alway (Papa Joe) will watch me in class, during performances, and when I participate. He
will also look at my written work, assignments, and projects. He might use special sheets or
checklists to help me with feedback and be fair. It's important for me to listen to the feedback I
get and use it to get better. I should think about what I'm good at and what I can improve. When
(Papa Joe) looks at everything I do, he will understand my performance in the theatre class.
