ACTIVITY: GUJUBAN INTER-SCHOOL SEMINAR-WORKSHOP ON LATIN-
DANCESPORT BASIC MOVEMENTS
RATIONALE: According to Gardner’s theory, intelligence is often defined as our

intellectual potential; something we are born with, something that can be
measured, and a capacity that is difficult to change. With this Theory of
Multiple Intelligence, the proponents come up with the idea that the
Municipality of Juban needs to conduct an Inter-school Amateur Contest in
Latin-Danceport to cater the innate talents of promising students in the field
of dance.
Dancesport is a combination of sports and dance. It is widely known as
competitive ballroom dancing which contains physical strength, stamina,
discipline, and teamwork. It allows the participants to improve their physical
and mental well-being and their social relationship. It’s categorized in two
different styles, the Latin and Standard.
The Department of Education promotes and encourages the learners to
develop and show their skills and talents through DepEd programs and
activities such as annual Palaro which aims to instill among students the
values inherent in sports such as discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Moreover, the Local Government Units promote the welfare of the youth
and to be more productive through various activities such as amateur contest.
Through this seminar-workshop on basic movements in dancesport, the
participants with intelligence in kinesthetic will gain more knowledge to
improve their talents and skills, and will ponder the lesson and discipline
they will gain from it. And sooner, they will carry the name of Juban with
pride and honor through this discipline.
OBJECTIVES The objectives of the activity are:
1. To provide the participants the basic knowledge in dancesport;

2. To encourage every school to participate in upcoming Gujuban
festival;
3. To promote dancesport to the schools of Juban;
4. To establish a camaraderie in inter-school through dancesport;
5. To develop competent dancers who will become delegates of the
municipality of Juban in upcoming tournaments.
EXPECTED  Culminating Activity

OUTPUTS:  Gujuban Inter-School Amateur Latin-Dancesport Competition
Administrative 1. After making the proposal, it will be sent to the School Head, SDS,
Arrangements and Juban Municipal Mayor for the checking and approval.
2. After the approval of this activity, the proponents will inform the
speakers, participants, and other concerned personnel through
sending letters.
3. The stated seminar-workshop will be done in 5 business
days,preferably on March 20—24, 2023 The expected participants
are aspiring dancers of schools of Juban I and Juban II (Both
elementary and secondary). The expected speakers are educators
from Sorsogon Province division, and if possible, other speaker/s
outside Department of Education will be invited who are
professionals in this field. The culminating activity will be done on
March 24, 2023 at 3: 00 in the afternoon in Juban gymnasium.
4. Following the IATF protocol, the participants, speakers, and other
persons involved in the said activity are encouraged to wear
facemask,and required to use sanitizer or alcohol at all times.
5. Printed certificates/tokens will be given to speakers, participants,
facilitators, and proponents of this activity.
6. After the culminating activity, the participants of each school will
prepare for the Gujuban Inter-school Amateur Latin-Dancesport
competition on ___________________ at 5:30 in the afternoon.
7. Prizes will be given to the winners .
8. Narrative report will be provided after the implementation of the
stated activity.
