a. Identify the simple tenses of verbs.
b. Construct sentences using the simple tenses of verbs correctly.
c. Appreciate the value of kindness.

Noting

Noting Details is a reading comprehension skill


that involves picking out, from a text, a particular
piece or pieces of information to achieve a given
purpose such as answering a question in a test.
When one notes details, he keeps a brief record of
something on a piece of paper.

1. Motivation
Do you have your pets at home? -Ant
What pet do you have at home? -Dove
What animal do you see in the pictures? - The thirsty ant go to river to drink a water but
suddenly the ant lost his balance and fell into the
river water. Dove helped the ant by plucking off the
leaf to rescue the ant.

We have three simple tenses of verb,


the Simple Past tense, Simple Present
tense and Simple Future tense.

Present: I clean my bedroom every day.
Future: I will clean my shoe rack later.

Simple Past tense

Simple Past tense is used to talk about


a completed action. It is formed by
using the past form of the verb.

Examples:
I talked to my father yesterday.
My dog barked a while ago.
She ate with me yesterday.

What is the past tense of Walk?


How about the past tense of eat?

The boy reads.


Simple Present tense The base form is read.

Simple Present tense indicates that an


action is present.

Examples:
It rains a lot in Malabon
I use my motor to get around in SM.
The ceremony starts at 9:00am in Col.
Ramon Camus.

Simple Future tense

Simple Future tense indicates that an will+verb


action is in the future. It is formed by
using the helping verb “will” and the
base form of the verb.

Examples:
I will eat lunch with you later.
I will go to my school at 7:00am.
I will invite my neighbor tomorrow.

Verb-will tense- future

Verb – teached tense – past

Verb – writing tense – present

What word helps you identify the verb is in Verb – will tense – future
