Science and technology begins when Thales of Melitus discovered the lightnings,
eclipses, and etc. Thats why he became the Father of Science. Then some Philosophers and
scientists started to explore and experiment too. Science became an interesting theme
since most of them was immersed by the nature and objects, and movements related to the
subject. From what I have remembered, one of the most popular example of this is
Pythagoras, who made the famous Pythagorean Theorem. I mean Mathematics is part of a
Science too, since it involves creativity, problem solving, and nature. Another example is
Democritus, who concluded that matter is made up of atoms. In the Middle ages, what I
first remembered was St. Thomas Aquainas, who created the Natural Theology. In this
year, new theories and technologies and laws were created, just like the Scientific Method,
which is the most popular way of experimenting a specific problem. The telescope,
compass, microscopw, etc. Was created too this time. I also remembered the difference
between the Ptolemaic and Copernican Theory, which is likely the debate about the
placement of the solar system. In Modern Age, what I have only remembered was the
Theory of Evolution by Charles Darwin, which is the theory that every people was a
monkey at first and made everyone confused.
In the Philippines, the first ancient people created some things made up of iron,
gold, copper, and bronze. They were also immersed in weaving, making pottery and
ornaments, and caring the nature. There are also many things they have learned from the
Spanish Regime to Commonwealth Period but I forgot, since it was wordy to read...
2. Describe a particular invention to show its evolution from ancient time to modern age.
(Example, Still camera from box type camera to digital camera). Show the pictures of
this evolution of camera to facilitate effective learning among yourselves as students
taking STS subject. (Evolution of still camera from box type camera to digital camera
with simple description of the invention.)
The very first example of this is the "Typewriter". The typewriter is a famous
invention for the workers to make their writing better. Then the Typewriter became

"Computer and Printer". The computer is multi-purposed, and it can type and make some
printed materials too, so it became effective.
3. Make a summary of the history of science and technology in the Philippines per
regime, in matrix form, and cite its impact on the lives of the Filipinos.
-The Early Age starts when the modern men (Homo Sapiens) first came to the Philipine
land
L: Since we can't be sure that the Theory of Evolution is reliably correct, we can't be so
sure that Homo Sapiens existed.
-People learned how to make things out of Gold, Bronze, Iron, and Copper
L: By this, Filipinos learned how to make things that needed in your daily life.
-Some conflicts and problems were discussed in the High School Institution
L:Today, some of the Academic Institution were focusing on how to solve different
problems involving around the institution, so that students are well-educated and
successfully active
-Progress in agriculture had been made possible by some government support for
research and education in this field.
L: Since there is progress in agriculture, we can be sure that the products are well
made so we can use it.
According to the history, there were just a little development on Science and
Technology this First Republic. These were all about the improvement in schools; the
graduation, new technologies, etc.
L: This time is just an improvement, so we can see clearly the success of every people
who had fun in their learning days.

-The government improved the machineries and technologies for the sake of the
students.
L: It was a great help that the students became successful thanks to these things.
-The state shall promote some scientific research and inventions (Article XIII Section 4)
L: This research could be a hardwork for the students, but the result will also be a
great help for all communities here.
-The Commonwealth Unit focused on the development and improvement of the Science
and Technology in every schools and communities
L: I cant think of such impact because it was too simplified and generalized, but this
was such a great help to the Filipino communities. It is such an honor that the Philippine
Commonwealth help those who are in need.
-The number of state universities and academic institutions had grown rapidly.
L: Since the students here in the Philippines had grown rapidly, these will be a great
help for all of us.
- This time, Science Agencies created some laws and improved some technologies for
the Filipino students.
L: Laws are part of Filipino ethics, so this will be a great guide for all of us...
technologies are a great help for all of us since we can create new knowledge.

Science is a body of knowledge since it encompasses the lists of facts around the
world. When we say science, there are physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science, and
some of them had facts that gains our knowledge.
Science is a personal and social activity since it encompasses the things we always
do everytime, and also the situations that always happens in a society, just like the volcano

2. What can you say about the state of science and technology during the Spanish and
American period?
The improvement of Science and Technology during this period was a success. I
mean they did everything just to make the life of a Filipino people easier.
3. How does school science shape science and technology in the country?
When they came, I think they also added medicine as their subject. Although only
few students entered and learned that subject, it was very pleasing forbthw Spaniards
and Americans. Also, there are many problems encountered during this period, but they
did their best in solving it.
4. What other government projects and programs are available for science education in
the Philippines?
As time goes by, we can't think of anything to be implemented, but the best way to
implement some projects or programs is to improve their community and make less fights.
We can just build a better community for a better future.
5. Are there private schools with outstanding science education programs? Identify and
compare their science education programs with public science schools?
I think some of the private schools have laboratories compared to some public
school. Laboratories will help the students engage themselves to experiments and will
boost their scientific knowledge.
For instance, a group of Davao people were weaving clothes because they
learned it from their grandmothers and grandfathers. Same as when they were all
dancing to indigenous music like Salidommay. It was all because they will all give
importance to their history and culture.
Indigenous science is helpful since it gives importance to their own culture and
tradition. Weaving, pottery making, tattoo making, etc. helps them to take care of the
benefits of their history.

Of course yes. As we all know, Indigenous science tackles about the culture and
tradition from a particular place and give importance to it. It will be accepted as Science
since weaving, pottery, etc. includes creativity, beneficial, and real life characteristics.
10. What is the role of indigenous science in the development of science and technology?
Since it was indigenous, it is the beneficial support from the ancient people. Since it
tackles about the culture of a particular place, this is one of the role of it.
POST TEST
1. Identify several issues in the Philippines. What science and technology related policies
could be developed and implemented to solve these issues?
First of all, some of the rural areas have a tight and bumpy road. The
implementation for improving those roads should be done by the government as soon as
possible. Cements and other materials are hard to find but they should work hard in
getting it. This could be helpful as the main idea for the yhesis or research to some
students.
2. What can you say about the implementation of some science and technology policies
and projects in the country?
It must be hard for the governments and communities to build such a hard thing or
project, but they did their best to make it successfully. We, humans, must be thankful for
them to make the life of a society peaceful and successful.

Being indigenous means giving improtance to the culture and tradition, so the role
of indigenous gives benefits to the development of indigwmous science, since the group of
people always kept their eye on their culture and tradition.
7. What is the role of indigenous science in the development of science and technology
in the Philippines?
8. How do society and culture influence the development of science and technology?
Firstly, society and culture are related to each other. Culture consists of historical
themed object of society while society are the people who holds and share common
culture. Society and culture influence the development of science and technology because
they hold the power to support it. They will be the moral support to give importance to the
development of science and technology.
Since indigenous knowledge tackles about the importance of culture and tradition
of a corresponding location, one of the example of this is Whang-Od Oggay. She is said
to be the last and oldest mambabatok in the larger Kalinga Province. Since she was doing
this while she was older, she gave importance to their culture.

From the ancient times, indigenous people has been giving inportamce to their own

> Man is an inquiring animal. Since we have the highest level of IQ from all animals, we
have the freedom to do anything intellectually and physically. We can also have the
freedom to express what we want to express.
> Man has never stopped searching for an answer to his fundamental queries. We have
the right to think and generate ideas, but sometimes, there are many options that make us
confused. We can easily remember a thing but there is confusion between it, so we gave
the freedom to search for an answer.
> Philosophy specifically means "love of wisdom" We should love our own thinking ability,
since it generates our ideas and makes us work thoroughly.
> The philosopher should be a man willing to listen to every suggestion... This is superbly
correct. All of us are philosophers in our own mind since we always think and sometimes
confused of our own answers. Then, we should be willing to listen to everyone's suggestion,
because everyone’s word really helps us in our own ways.
> Philosophy is certainly an exciting and fascinating intellectual adventure. We are
walking on our own journey, but deep in our minds, we always think of questions or
situations that hit us hard. These queries are a set of confusions that needs answers, so it
was really interesting.
Philosophy means "love of wisdom" and it became our own way to experience
everything with a set of questions in our mind. While we are walking on our journey, we
had an unforgettable experience, remarkable queries, and guiding love from everyone.
Yes, because Philosophy is all about how we experience everything around the
world with questions in our mind. We are a human, and we can think deeply and
meaningfully. Science experiments is an example why we have so many questions on our
mind. I mean we can't be sure it we get the chemicals and process right. So it was
important.

First of all, we all need queries while studying STS. It will generally help us
broaden our thinking ability in a specific subject. When we have questions, we need
answers, so it is basically significant. Lastly, as a student, this will help us grow our own
mind with a bunch of knowledge inside it. It will help us to describe, narrate, explain,
synthesize, and also criticize to a single idea, and this will help us broaden our thinking
ability.
5. Does philosophy govern full understanding of science and technology? Discuss your
answer comprehensively and cite your reference material.
Experiments will make us confused regarding to the chemicals used and the
process made. Periodic table is so hard to memorize since there are too many elements in
here. Earth Science could be too tiring if we all focus on the universe, and it's like we
travel the universe. With Philosophy, we can understand all of this with a definition, real-
life situation, and explanation in our minds, so it governs full understanding of Science.
We are born with the ability to think and generate ideas. With the help of this, the
society can answer all of the questions in thier mind. It can help them think twice and learn
the context of Science and Technology around us. For instance, we can understand now
why trains work on railroads, or why social media can connect all over the world, or why
we have to eat nutritious foods. Simply, it will help us generate ideas.

First of all, Chemistry is a branch of science that deals with matters and chemicals. It copes up
with experiments and experiences that we never expect to do. Since we are into it, on the first
phase, the transformation of materials were introduced. It means that some scientists used
experimental techniques to perform material conventions. This is like forming elements into another
elements to form a compound and combining a compound to form a mixture. They discover it
through experiments. In the 2nd phase, alchemy was written. Alchemy is a form of speculative
thought, which the alchemist tries to transform base metal like gold and copper into a way which
they can cure diseases and extend lives. It was said that a particular thing can cure a disease and
extend lives by experimenting. The last phase was about a Chemistry as a Science. Since
Chemistry is a study that deals with atoms, elements, matter, etc. Then we can build our own
knowledge through study and experiments. There's a triangle in the middle. It was because they
are interconnected. These phases are important in making a dangerous process but a helpful
result. Someone from the ancient times have tried to transform a base metal into a way that can
cure diseases and extend lives, and it was beneficial.
First of all, since this 2020 is the invasion of the Pandemic Corona Virus, I have
thought of the Philippine Government making medicines to cure the people who are
affected by this virus. The virus' population is increasing, the government should do
something to stop the invasion of this virus. I also think they have made it, but they don't
share it to us even though there are many people dying because of this. To stop this
situation, the society should be one. We should help prevent this kind of situation, because
prevention is better than cure. We can do this without the advice of the government if we
do it nicely.

First of all, according to the copy that I have read, science is all about
understanding the facts. The fact that science only explores the facts and experimental
until they get the result became more comprehensive. Meanwhile, philosophy is
understanding everything, not only the factual ones but also the intangible one. We can
learn here what our feelings want to tell us from the bottom of our heart. Science needs
experimentation and observation to determine the fact while Philosophy needs
explanation and interpretation that begins with the facts around us.
The fact that they all appreciate, interpret, and enjoy the meaning of the real-life
situation, they differ each other. Art gives the colors of the product, and is pleasing to the
eyes of every people, while philosophy gives the colors of the people's hearts and is
pleasing to the soul of every people. Art gives you imaginary ability to create something.
Meanwhile, philosophy gives you real ability to interpret the idea to the real life situation.
Philosophy is a way of teaching everyone how to make themselves great and keep
their works up, while education is a way of teaching everything that happened around us,
maybe facts or opinions. Philosophy and education can be viewed as two disciplines
between which certain differences can be identified. Philosophy refers to the study of the
fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and the existence. Education refers to the
process of acculturating individuals into the society (Plotado, 2020). Education grows the
brain of individuals knowledgably, while philosophy grows the heart of individuals
relatably.

The difference between the two is that philosophy is the understanding to the
combination of facts and real life situations, while science is the understanding to the
actual facts that the exploration and experiments have done. Hence, the importance of
this to our society is that, when they all makes our life wonderful. The product they made
really exist in our lives with a factual energy.
2. Discuss the importance of contrasting salient features of philosophy with art to society.
Art and philosophy gives colors to our lives and makes us more lively since this gives
us more meaning and energy. The difference is that art is more on creative and amazing
products and works, while philosophy focuses on the reality and the situation today. They
also gave us a deep meaning that makes us feel special, since they all makes us relatable.
Philosophy and religion are very different, hence, they all tell us that whenever we
have problem, someone will always guide us. Religion is more about the rules and beliefs
and ethics supported by the church, so God will always guide us. Philosophy, on the other
hand, makes us feel relieved with our own perspective and meaning of true journey.
Philosophy teaches us the meaning of the real life situation, including our own
perspective and belief in everything around us, while education teaches us the facts and
opinions we have gathered while facing the reality. Hence, they all teaches us the same
thing, and it is to be yourselves. Yes, and learning some facts and realizing our own
perspectives makes us brave and face the real world with our shield of knowledge and
power of beliefs, so we can succeed to our own dreams.

There are six components of scientific method. The first one is to OBSERVE. As
always, in determining a problem, we have to first observe and analyze the unexplained
problems that happened. The second one is to DETERMINE A PROBLEM. Since we
observed the situation, we can see the problem here and also identify it's factors. The third
one is to FORMULATE HYPOTHESIS. Hypothesis is a proposed explanation on the basis of
the limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation. In this step, we can
identify the good ones and reject the null hypotheses. Since we identified them, the fourth
one is to CONDUCT AN EXPERIMENT. After we are sure about the said investigation, we
can experiment and observe again what will happen. The fifth one is to GATHER AND
ANALYZE. Since we are done experimenting, we should collect and jat down the important
facts and results identified in the said experiment. The sixth and last one is to FORMULATE
CONCLUSION AND PROVIDE RECOMMENDATION. Just like the research, we should
conclude to make it complete, and end it by recommending.
3. Explain the importance of Verification Theory and Falsification Theory in the validity
of science.
Verification Theory, as said by its word itself VERIFY, is a theory wherein only
statements that is verifiable is cognitively meaningful. Meanwhile, Falsification Theory is
capacity for a statement or hypothesis to be contradicted by the evidence. In the validity
of science, this is significant for the experiments and investigations to be clear, reliable,
and validated by the evidence and facts. We can be sure that this result is factual
because of these two theories. For instance, when one says "all leaves are green", one will
always argue with the facts like "there are brown, yellow, and violet leaves too.” Likewise,
these theories will help us to differentiate the facts from opinions itself

In Heidegger's view concerning technology, there are three main claims, as what I
have read. First is that TECHNOLOGY IS NOT A INSTRUMENT, BUT A WAY OF
UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD. That's a fact, since we are using technology to know the
essence of every factual thing in this world. We are using internet to get some ideas and

informations, and also updates. Second is that TECHNOLOGY IS NOT A HUMAN ACTIVITY,
BUT A DEVELOPMENT TOWARDS HUMAN CONTROL. It is strangely factual, since we are
using these technologies as an activity or a thing that we use when we need to, but I think
it is true since they also controls us to do something. Likewise, when we are bored, our
brain says that we can use phone for scrolling on Facebook and chatting with friends.
Lastly, TECHNOLOGY IS THE HIGHEST DANGER, and this is a fact too. In other words,
they may also be a disadvantage for us to create some piece of impossibility, and will
make us live in this world with technological thinking activity, since technologies control our
boredom and frustration.
3. What can you say about the progress of science and technology in our country? Cite
its implication to you as student of CBSUA and to all Filipinos.
We can say that Science and Technology is the biggest progress in our history.
Technologies even live significantly in this world and Science is it's idea and process. By
these things, we can explore the world easily and create some moments with everyone.
We can feel the freshness of nature and feel the friendliness of everyone through internet.
For me, having a good life is not found in books, so you don't have to learn it.
Having a good life is not seen in treasure chests so you don't have to work hard in finding
it. Having a good life is found in our minds and is glued inside our hearts. We can have a
good life gor it will reflect how we act and what we say. Likewise, helping our community
intentionally and studying hard for my future is part of the good life that I want to do.
2. Is happiness the same as with fulfillment? Explain your answer based from your
opinion and based from concern authorities of knowledge.
Happiness is the key to success, and I think everyone had the motto of this in their
hearts, so I think it is the same. If you succeed in what you are doing, then it also makes
you happy, it's simple right. For some reasons, happiness and fulfillment are different, but
they are interconnected, since that fulfillment will also create your happiness.
3. How do you attain happiness or fulfillment in life that leads to good life? Explain.
Just like what I have said in number 2, happiness is the key to success, so what I
really did is to do what I want to do that was also makes me happy. Likewise, when I love
to do these things, ofcourse just make myself smile is a part of a good life for me. Having
a good life is not just giving goods to the needy or helping the tree planting organization,
because for me, having a good life is what makes me BE ME, and my freedom is my
choice and my happiness too, but they must be all good. For instance, living myself as a

1. Make a case study of video clip entitled that Sugar Film: “Production and
Consumption of Sugars.”
First of all, sugar is a sweet particle that almost likely to cover up all variety of
foods in this world, even fresh fruits and vegetables. Sugar is an important particle since it
also adds flavor to every foods we eat. Most importantly, although they create some
freshness in our taste, it also produces some fats to our body. In the video, fats are just
found in the inner layer of our body, especially on our stomach. Likewise, the outer layer
of our stomach is just thin as the outer crust of the earth. In the sugar, the narrator
explained that the glucose produce some healthy products in our body, especially in our
hearts and lungs, whilst the fructose acts like the leftover, which produces some fats in our
body. So the video includes the experiment on how the fats lowered if we eat less sugar
or glucose in our body. The man investigated his own body together with the professionals,
and it turns out that there are too many fats produces in his body. On the day 1, he
bought some foods and dairies, but it turns out that he only use 4% of glucose out of 12%
or more in every products. He started what we call dieting. He does the same thing on
day 2 to day 5, and then goes again on day 5 for second investigation. Then, it turns out
that some fats have cleared. What I remembered is the apple he ate in the fourth day.
When we eat the apple in a solid type, let’s say that it has 2-4% of glucose, but when we
crash it and turn it into solid, it doubles the percent of the glucose in the fruit itself. Back to
the topic, he decided to do what he always do and his partner said that his personality
changed a lot. She mentioned that he feels so gloomy on the past but turns out to be more
energetic the way he experiments himself. So it turns out that the sugar also changes our
personality. On the day 12, I guess, he came back to the professional ones and
investigate. From the appearance to the experiments, he changed a lot. The fats are just
became bubbles that pops out and gone.
To conclude, sugar helps us add the flavor to our taste, but helps us to make fats
on our body especially on our stomach, with the help of the fructose. Likewise, if we serve
a total amount of glucose in our body, we can stop producing fats in our body. Since we
cant help to be happy, exercising is one of the best way to clean your body.
2. Make a reflection paper of a video clip entitled “Akira Kurosawa’s Dreams: Village of
Watermills.”
The village of the watermills is one of the inspirations I get to make myself be
positive more. The 103 years old man said that they tried to keep the normal way of
living unlike the way of living in the cities. The flowers are pleasing and the watermills are
very creative. It was like they created the peace and the friendliness with each other.
When there are someone died, they all visit and make her soul peaceful with that kind of
parade. With the helpfulness and cooperation of everyone, the village is very pretty and
quiet. It was like we can concentrate with what we want to do in order to live in this world.
Likewise, if the Philippines is as pretty as that village, it will be very peaceful and friendly
for us to make time with others. With the nature, we can live freshly.

Google is one of the best online sites that help us to create our own fantasy and
also turn our written work into success. Likewise, they are somewhat reliable for the
educational purpose and somewhat progressive for the political issues. Nevertheless,
Google may also make us stupid for some reasons. First is that we are not sure if Google

have its name of author or year of publication that makes me think of saving another
document to avoid plagiarism. Second, because of our imaginary minds, we search for it
occasionally if it was true. Sometimes, we hear some words that may think of unclear
definition, but when we search it, the word has too many ways to understand. For instance,
I don’t really think if this was true, but when I searched “what does rawr mean in
dinosaur…?” the Google says “I love you” so I don’t think this was really reliable. On the
other hand, Google is one of the best informational sites that will help us to walk on our
journey, since it has everything, and it knows everything, not really.
If robots are a part of this society today, it will be helpful for our easier and
calmer for the process and steps of our journey. On the other hand, Robots may face some
ethical dilemmas too, as well as the robotics. First is the safety. Since robots are just made
by humans, and they are just mainly following the intentions of their master, using this may
also cause accidents and some instances that we didn't expect. Likewise, when robots
made their own work, since they don't literally have brains, sometimes, it may cause an
incident that may be dangerous for us in the future. Lastly, the emotions that a robot may
bring. For the first time, robots are just following the intentions of the master, there are
instances that tge master may form some emotions to the robot even though that will be a
very cruvial move in having a robots. Robots don't have hearts, but they may come up with
their emotions too, since they are living in this world too
Proper use of these technologies should be applied to our mind. The proper use
and etiquette of these technologies are made for us to protect ourselves from these crucial
situations. Likewise, we should be sensitive too, since some of this may hurt our own selves,
and may also make us depressed. There are some instances that these technologies may
turn their backs to us since this is a judgmental society, so some accidents and crucial
moves may happen. For instance, there are some cause of cyber-bullying, or voice

POST TEST
1. Make a reflection paper of the ethical dilemmas of robotics.
Robots are just human-like features that mainly follow the instructions of its master,
in my opinion. Likewise, it is just a situation wherein these robots like to do anything on
what he told to. They are living, nonetheless, they don't have souls, but I think they also
create their imaginary world just like us. When talking about robots, we can think about its
purpose in life, and it's to follow the intentions of its master. In the meantime, thinking of its
usage safety is also one of the main reasons why we should be careful in using these
structures. Simple mistakes can lead to accidents, and I think when robots ate just told to,
they just follow it without thinking of the present consequences, so we should be careful in
using it.
For this situation, I think everyone of us, except for those infants; use this online site
for them to know what is true and what is reliable. We can use Google for political,
commercial, educational, and other purposes. But in reality, they can also make us stupid
for its "mema" words and information. Likewise, I was very interested in using this to find
my answers to these questions, but while I was using it, I can sense it's mistakes and
unreliable sources too, that makes me stupid too. First of all, the Google Translator. I don't
know if I should follow it, but I can sense some mistakes, so I can't trust it. Some results may
bring me to stupidity too. Some fake news and irrelevant sources entertains me too, so it
happens that I follow it with my sleepy intuition. Lastly is the signal, when it's high but
suddenly became low, we can't help to blame the signal for not completing our mission. So
I think Google can make us stupid too.
First of all, technologies really help us in our lives, and yes, it may take time to
make it but it improves our generational process day by day. Likewise, it doesn’t
matter that we cannot think that it might be a danger for us to allow a strong chance
of these technologies to hurt our feelings to, so I agree with what Bill Joy have said.
There are many times people improves the strength and ability for the technologies to
take care of what we have to do, but as it goes longer, our lives may grow too weak
too. When technologies start our day, our lives rest longer and cannot feel the strength
we need every day. According to Bill Joy, 21st century technologies impose dangerous
risks and offer human extinction, and that’s true. No matter how we live, if these strong

and intelligent technologies rule the world, then we can lead ourselves to death. As we
all know, our lives is too short to do everything possible and impossible, so we don’t
need improvement of these technologies, but we need to improve our own life’s ability
and skill to do everything. We should continue to develop technology with great
cautions as ruled by ethical humans and not robots. Intelligent robots are not what we
need, but the interaction between many people, for the love to grow with compassion
and freedom. We always seek for the truth, but we sometimes cannot face the reality.
We must find what true happiness means, not the power of wealth or competition. It
isn’t quite big that everyone competes with their lives, but it is also important to
interact and make friends with everyone too.
First of all, I, Robot is a collection of nine short stories by science fiction writer Isaac
Asimov that imagines the development of positronic robots and wrestles with the moral
implications of the technology. Unlike every human, robots also had their human
intelligence that can do what humans can do too. With these proposed stories, Asimov
also summed up with the three laws of robotics, and it is, a robot may not injure a
human being, or through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm; a robot must
obey the orders of the human beings except when such conflicts may happen with the
first law; lastly, a robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does
not conflict with the first two laws. With these laws, I accept that robots can be a part
of our society today. Without causing too much trouble, robots had also that human
intelligence wherein they can tell the difference between right and wrong, which made
the people confused with its choice. For them not to make destructions, robots may be
careful too, in bringing some emotions and interacting with every people, because for
me, we don’t need these robots, but we need improvements in our community, not
causing destruction to the nature, but is making us refreshed with the looks of the
nature. For me, nature is more important that machines, so we should always take care
of the environment, and since machines could also make our lives in danger, nature is a
key for us to live peacefully.

done, it is important to face the reality and make use of machineries given too, and funds
are given either face to face or through bank, I guess.
The second one is famous for its social, economic, and environmental factors.
Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is an agency focusing on the environmental
and economic gains. With the use of local raw materials and transform it to an innovations,
they can help the people improve their lives too. Likewise, there are machines and
technologies they use too for better and easier work too. They developed technologies
that are responsive to climate change adaptation and mitigation. Their advantage is that
their machines are at the low cost compared to the imported products, since they want to
make the people’s lives easier.
POST-TEST
1. Does the future really depend on us or really need us? Explain.
First of all, we must depend on our future. Yes, it must be problematic, but we
should be careful for facing the reality. Imagining the future must be hard for us, but as
we see the present scenario, I think the result must be bad too, since 2020 is a bad year
for us. With the nature and community as our antagonist in our journey, we must be careful
for facing the future, so we must depend on our future, and basically, FUTURE REALLY
NEED US. As we go on our journey, having this kind of problem is the worst case scenario
for us, and our future is in danger too. Likewise, Corona Virus and Destruction of
communities is a common subject in our lives today, so I think it is a guess the bad future,
but aside from it, we should solve the case. In terms of a bad future, we should improve it
and make it a good one, so future needs us to make it right.
First of all, the two government agencies I had picked is the OWWA and DOST,
and these two had the purpose of making our lives better, so it is significant since the
purpose of these two agencies is for the better community and the better future. OWWA
make sure that these OFWs and its families are safe in their journey and gave them half
of the fund or salary too. Meanwhile, DOST is focusing on the economic and environmental
factors and improve the technology and nature for the better lives of the society today. As
the time goes by, the world is either improving or not in its own way and these two
agencies are doing their best to make the lives of the people better than expected.
Making programs and improving technologies are the best things that happened in their
journey, so for me, it is truly significant.

First of all, philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems, such as
those connected with our reality and existence. It is also considered as the “love of wisdom”
wherein we are also tasked to study about the knowledge of our own journey and our
own truth. Herewith, we can differentiate the right with wrong and also the fallacies
existing in our whole life. Meanwhile, technology is the science of crafts and skills. It allows
you to create imaginative techniques and processes used in the production of goods and
services. Modern technologies include gadgets and appliances that will also make our life
easier and fresher. Likewise, this is the transformation and even the improvement of the
machines created by humans. Philosophy is connected to technology since they all live with
the humans itself. Philosophy is the study of our reality, and technology is on our reality
too. We are changing our own perspective based on what the technologies reflects and
gives us, and philosophy is teaching us to reflect on the things we have been looking for
from the start until the end. For instance, cellphones are part of the technology where
human makes themselves, and they also changed our personality too, even our way of
walking in our journey. Cellphone changed our perspective, and we can’t focus on the
things around us since we stare too often to our cellphones and scroll too much on our
Facebook.
First of all, anthropology is the study of what makes us human. By this definition, it
makes sense that technology didn’t make us but changed our process and perspective in
our human life. Just like the foods, dresses and shelters, technologies are a part of our
lives wherein we cannot do anything without it. For instance, instead of delivering a letter
to the postman, we can send it through messenger app. Instead of washing laundries by
our hand, washing machine was invented. Instead of typing in a laptop, we can type and
even revise it on a computer. With this reason, technology is a part of anthropological
activities because it changes our way of living.

jailed inside our own room. A good life is doing what to love in our life, but it
doesn’t mean that we should do it ourselves. Likewise, having a friends and
exploring the world is a must for us. Aside from being happy with tours and talks,
we should also help the environment turn into a greener and a fresher one, since
for me, a good life is living with eternal freshness from the nature. It’s disgusting to
feel the black air from the cities, so we should help each other clean our nature
and bring back the old tradition.
5. Discuss the impact of Science and Technology to society in terms of its detrimental
effects.
Science and technology focuses on the earth, inventions, and the humans around
them. Likewise, it is a significant thing that was invented because it makes our lives feel
easier. However, the overuse of these technologies may have a negative impact on
developing children and teenager. We all know that everything around us had its own
advantages and disadvantages so technology had its own too. First and foremost,
depression and anxiety is formed while using social medias. It looks like we have added
our frustration while facing the reality of the online world. When an individual focuses too
much on the answer that he wants, but wasn’t that impactful or doesn’t make sense to what
he want, a person’s mind may be punched by someone invisible three times, I guess.
Second is the posture. While the society is growing, the posture of everyone became
poorer as they get their cellphone and use it. Likewise, our backs or spinal cords and our
necks may hurt a bit since we are used to be with that improper posture. Next is the sleep
problem. This is also like me, wherein as I go through my day scrolling through Facebook
and then answering the online activities, its hard for me to multitask so I became too
energized at the night time. Students like me feel like they have more friends in an online
world so they spend their time chatting with online friends. With these, we cannot help
ourselves following the rule of eight to ten hours of sleep, and we became a night owl too,
and its bad for our health. Lastly, focusing ourselves to the radiation of the phones may
damage our eyes. We go through everything just to open our phones and the radiation of
it may make our eyes blurry, so always be careful in using these technologies.
6. Discuss the impact of Science and Technology to society in terms of useful effects.
It is proven that technologies made our lives easier. With the use of these machines,
inventions, appliances, and gadgets, it really made our lives easier. They have given us a
chance to rest sometimes when we are stressed. The technologies also improved too, and it
made everything easy as expected. Its simple, right? The only positive thing a technology

had made is having our life easier, but it is the biggest impact in our millennial time. For
instance, in school works, typing in a computer is better than typing in a typewriter for
how many times since typewriter will make you work for how many times because of a
single mistake but a computer can make your work revised too. In home chores, there are
many inventions that has made our lives easier, just like the rice cookers, refrigerators,
washing machines, and ovens. This is made for the mothers and fathers to help the rest for
a little bit of time. For the educational purposes, instead of reading a book for how many
times, Google is made as our connoisseur and knows everything as long as we searched it
online. In community, it is just that farmers and road makers made their lives easier
because of the vehicles they can use to lift up soils and plant rice grains too, with the
bulldozer and another types of trucks. Vehicles are part of the technology too, so it is a
great help for us to not always walk towards our school and offices. In conclusion,
technology is a great impact for us, peoples, and it made our lives easier.
7. With the advent of new technologies or modern technologies, why does the future not
need us?
It is true that the future doesn’t need us because we are trying to live with just the
orders of these technologies, and as the technologies improve greatly, we are just resting
for the whole time. I mean we trust our lives with the works of the technologies. That’s why
future doesn’t need us, but the vice versa. We need the future to be safe, because if the
technologies improve higher and higher, then there is a chance that it might destruct the
earth and also causes to human extinction. There are many times people improves the
strength and ability for the technologies to take care of what we have to do, but as it
goes longer, our lives may grow too weak too. When technology keeps stronger and
stronger, it may become our own enemy in the future, especially when robots are being
invented and trained today too. We don’t need the improvement of these technologies,
but in either way, we need the improvement of the interaction between different peoples.
We should keep in our minds the destruction it may cause and we should better help
ourselves make the community cleaner. It is the need of the future, the helpfulness of our
hands and the better vision of our minds, not the strength of the technologies.
8. Discuss the policy standards and guidelines of DOST that protect the well-being of its
stakeholders.

First of all, Information Technology (IT) is the technology involving the department,
maintenance, and use of computer systems, software, and networks for the processing and
distribution of data, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. It means that the key
point is the involvement of the IT to the processing of data by computers. As for now, I just
know the term Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and it also refers to the
processing and distribution of data, and making printed works too using computers and
other gadgets, as we have had the subject on our High School Life. Computers existed
before 1978, but they were mainly used to perform complicated calculations. As of now,
it’s purpose had improved too, not that big but more purposeful for us to generate and
make some things out of it for us to improve our technical ability. In conclusion, IT is a
rapidly evolving field. From its complicated calculations to different purposes like
powerpoints and excels, IT is famous for its improvement, and everyone is keeping an eye
on these gadgets since it is very catchy and ready-to-use.
First of all, this Information Technology is a big impact to the society today.
Likewise, everyone is using and depending their works through these gadgets since making
work there is easier than expected. First and foremost, it is important for the students.
These days, projects and activities are mostly typed and printed, especially when making
researches and reports, so Microsoft apps is a great help for the students. Second, it is
important for the teachers. Back then, teachers wrote some grades and lesson plans at
their record book, but because of the improvement of IT, teachers are now typing some of
these in the Microsoft Excel and Word. In addition, when I am in high school, our teachers
are just preparing their report and discussion through their Power Points for us to make it
easier to understand, since we use televisions, not projectors, but projectors are a great
help too. Third, it is important for the businessmen and women. Likewise, every office
workers are using their time making the reports using the computers itself. For them to pass
it to the manager and then that manager found out some mistakes, it is easier for them to
revise it unlike writing some words on the long sized bond paper. Lastly, it is important for
everyone, since gadgets also include in the vocabulary in the Information Technology. I
feel like everyone, except for infants and children of one to five years-olds, had their own
cellphones and use it for calling, texting, picture taking, and other purposes. Everyone
made their lives easier through using cellphones. And some websites are helpful too, as
expected, just like Google, Facebook, and YouTube too. So everyone made their lives
easier just by keeping their eyes on the Information Technology.
3. Identify and explain the seven facts about the Information Age
First of all, Robert Harris made an article entitled “Truths of Information Age”
wherein he detailed some facts on this Information Age. Likewise, Information Age became
a more effortlessly important in our lifestyles since it covers our ability to know everything,

just like educational or news from the reality. It makes us advanced or be ready since we
know the truth, but let me explain the facts behind the Information Age. . First is that
media space must eat. During periods of too much information, media must omit, select, or
condense. In a scarcity, media must spread out, repeat, or include the unimportant
information. But as I read it, we shouldn’t include some fake news since they made too
many rumors than the truth. Second is that information must compete. Of course competing
is that hard but challenging, and people has its choices on where to believe, but since
there is too much exaggeration, some of them believe what is more focused by everyone,
than what is the main topic or the truth of the topic. Third, the early word gets the perm. In
some reasons, every different channels are competing on its own words and beliefs, but
since people nearly get some attention by the said information, some people had the trust
to the first one that is published. The fourth one is that the frame makes the painting. It
means that those who frame the terms of discourse influence the choices and outcomes. If
an issue is framed as a battle between tolerance and bigotry, then whatever side is the
tolerant one will be preferred. The fifth one is that ideas are seen as confidential, and yes,
that is true. Having these certain ideas to the point that everyone mustn’t use it repeatedly;
it makes great sense that we are neither copying each other’s words nor tell some
controversial or confidential news that makes someone weak and shy. That’s why fake
news are getting over the line and disappointed each and every personas. Likewise,
there are too many issues about this but the importance is that, they just want to share
information for us to know what is really happening in our sight.

1. Identify and discuss the applications of computer in you as a student studying in

Of course competing is that hard but challenging, and people has its choices on where to

focused by everyone, than what is the main topic or the truth of the topic. Third, the early

had the trust to the first one that is published. There are too many truths but I will just pick
four, and the last one is that the frame makes the painting. It means that those who frame
the terms of discourse influence the choices and outcomes. If an issue is framed as a battle
between tolerance and bigotry, then whatever side is the tolerant one will be preferred.
Likewise, there are too many issues about this but the importance is that, they just want to
share information for us to know what is really happening in our sight.
First of all, God made us a world to live in, and this world can be a part of
biodiversity too, since biodiversity was composed of lands, waters, plants, animals, and
humans too. Biodiversity is a place wherein every biotic and abiotic, living and non-living
component are sharing and interacting with each other. Since we are living in this earth,
we may encounter all of the organisms living in this biodiversity, because biodiversity is
everywhere, including the terrestrial, aerial, and aquatic components and even the
ecosystems itself. Likewise, it is a must that we all need this biodiversity because we cannot
live without them, and it’s mainly reasonable though. This part is very important to us since
these places made us live peacefully and actively, so we must take care of it at all cost.

We all know that thee environment is the one that is supporting our needs in our
society today, which means that the nature is our mere provider in our story, since it has
foods that we can eat, materials that we need, and items that we can use, but because of
the sudden slip of the community today, people tend to not care of everyone around them
and destroy the nature itself. People tend to cut down trees for more land clearing
operations. Animals like rhinos and elephants get killed because of their unique physical
characteristics that made people rich and that part were displayed onto the museum like
what happened to the people nowadays? These changes may be big, but causes a lot of
impact in the society today, which is a great distraction to everyone else. Environment
doesn’t need people, but people need nature. Trees kept cut down, and icebergs kept
melting one by one, which means that our future is on danger too. Nevertheless, we really
need to protect the earth at all cost.
POST TEST
There are five threats that were given by the United Nations Environment
Programme, but are we even aware of it? I just meant that we kept distracting the history
of environment even though it also keeps on giving us the needs of our lives. Likewise, we
should look at our future because the future is in danger too. Because of these threats, we
need to be careful in what we need to do with the nature. Besides, let me enumerate the
five threats identified by them. The first one is the habitat loss and destruction. Let’s look
back at the destruction caused by Typhoon Rolly, isn’t it massive? From what I have heard,
places from Bicol saw a great mass of destruction and Bula town was covered with flood.
Some animals have faced its death too when there is a forest fires in Australia back March
of 2020, I think, just like koalas. In other terms, with these situations, some living things
might face their own danger, so we must be careful. The second one is the alteration in
ecosystem composition. When one had disturbed, the others were distracted too. It’s like
the loss or decline of a single species can lead to a loss of the biodiversity. This threat is
connected to the balance in nature itself, since once we keep on disturbing one component
of ecosystem, the others are distracted too. The third one is what we call overexploitation.
We humans keep on distracting them, and this threat is more than that. Overhunting,
overfishing, and over-collecting of species is even more dangerous both to us humans and
to the species too since we should be living here equally. Killing one species is like killing
ourselves three times, and as we all know that this is a mere sin, we kept on doing this
lately. The fourth one is the pollution and contamination. Just a simple throwing of trash
everywhere can lead to pollution and contamination. It takes a year for a plastic bottle or
plastic wrappers to melt on a sea, so the waters are polluted basically because of this.
Also, smokes from vehicles and factories may lead to air pollution, so the fresh air we
need to breathe is gone. The last one is global climate change. We are aware of it but it
seems that we don’t even care of it, so we keep on disturbing the elements of the
ecosystem.

The earth was composed of both living and non-living things, and we can also see
the species from terrestrial, aerial, and aquatic resources. We are all aware that we
receive our basic needs from the nature itself, and we can also get some materials we
needed to make this and that, so the importance of this is everything. We can live because
of biodiversity, and we can also survive because of this biodiversity, and since we need
them, it feels easier to find because of the things the ecosystem has done for us.
The biodiversity is important to us since they help us and be with us so we can still
survive in this world. Likewise, it is a must for us to take care of this ecosystem. Simply, our
role is to protect the earth. It is our right to use the nature for our living, so it is our
privilege to take care and protect it at all cost. Just a simple picking of trash and throwing

3. Identify and discuss different implications and impact of GMOs in Philippine society.
GMOs have helped the farmers reduce their environmental footprint by allowing
them to use fewer inputs and enabling a shift to reduced tillage. Since Philippines is reach
of farmers or gardeners, we have made or discovered something unique and new to
Filipinos. A grains or corns with more nutrients can also improve the health of every
Filipinos just by 1 to 10%. Likewise, the impact of these to Filipinos is not too shocked but
a great help for the farmers and gardeners to create new possible product that will help
the Filipino men. From one species to a combined new species is a great gift of us to God
so we must use it with a careful mind.
POST TEST
I can’t find the original meaning of the naturally nurtured organism, but I feel like it
was the original copy of the organism we can always see everywhere. Likewise, it is a
must that we preserve the gift of God seen in our environment. For me to be sure, I’ll
prefer the original one, which is the naturally nurtured organism. Naturally nurtured
organism is a simple yet a meaningful component for us because it is what we see every
day, so we are sure that we can eat these every day, even though we are not being
careful. Genetically modified organism is an improvised and more unique one, and even
more catchy to our eyes. Yes, and that is true, but we should be more careful too, since its
long term effects are not yet identified, and the theme itself is very new to the Science
class so we are not sure if it was edible enough.
In our case, our health is more important than everything since it holds our lives and
protect ourselves at all cost. GMOs are very new from the discovery of the Science subject,
so we need a bit of carefulness in our sight because it can damage our elements in our
body either with a short or a long term effects. Also, its long terms effects are even
unidentified, so we should be more and more careful about it. Likewise, these products are
still new to us, so it can also produce some allergic response, since we are not used to
using it. As long as we saw them, we can just be more aggressive and try to taste them
since they are unique, since we are somewhat possessive, but we should also try to be
careful. GMO foods can also change its nutritional value based on the mixed component
from the two organisms so it means that we should be more and more and more careful.

had a crisis facing the reality of discovering some genetically modified organisms, but with
the help of the Filipino organization that tackles about science and health, they have set
new rules indicating the things to be careful to do or to eat or even to experiment. There
are some kinds of comprehensive problems but with the help of everyone, it was
approved by the Supreme Court that December. It makes sense that the Philippines is the
first one in Asia to approve commercial cultivation of a GM crops to feed the animal and
to experiment and make some unique crops like corns.
Nano World
Nanotechnology and nanoscale, from its root word NANO, tackles about how
important the smaller particle is in our survival journey. In scientific definition, nano is even
smaller than micro since nano’s numerical contribution or System of Units is 10-9, therefore,
one nanometer is a billionth of a meter. By its rootword itself, we can characterize
nanotechnology and nanoscale since it almost catches the smallest particle on earth. The
two word’s purpose is to compose a research or experiment about the smaller component
we even collaborate with every day. With the use of microscope, or “nanoscope” or even
other things accepted to be a material for finding these particles, we can identify the
difference between them and we can distinguish what a nanotechnology and a nanoscale
is.
Nanotechnology and nanoscale are part of science which tackles about the world
of the smaller particles in our own planet and all over the universe. Their use of course is

Gene Technology
1. Describe and discuss the several approaches to gene therapy by Fliesler, 2017.
2. Describe and discuss the somatic gene therapy, germ-like gene therapy, and stem cell
gene therapy.
As we all know, gene therapy is like a medicine but a gene type that will help you
lessen your problem while facing the reality with these diseases. These diseases are
harmful and dangerous to our lives, so they have made some cure to fight back with the
disease. Likewise, there are three so-called types or forms of gene therapy. The first one
is the somatic gene therapy. The somatic gene therapy involves the manipulation of a
single gene that is important for the health of the patient, but is not inherited towards his
or her next generation. It is helpful though even it cannot be passed on through his or her
child or cousins; at least he carried all his worries with this disease and survived through
this form of gene therapy. The second one is the germ-like gene therapy. This form is the
vice versa of the somatic ones. According to the definition, germ-like gene therapy
involves the genetic modification of the germ or origin cells that can pass through the
generation, so it is really the vice versa of the first form. With the help of a single particle,
if it can pass through the next generation, then those kids may be free from the disease
she had carried. The last one is the stem cell gene therapy. Stem cells are mother cells that
have the potential to become any type of cell in the body. With that definition, then it can
change its appearance based on where it was located to. It can become the cell of the

heart, the lungs, the brain, or anything else. With the help of these mother cells, they can
help fight against the disease and build up the distractions the disease have brought.

Anything can cause harm to our health, so we must be careful. With the help of
these smaller particles that we can see through technology, it is a lesson for us to identify
which is which. These tiny particles can also help us fight against the illness and rebuild
some nutrients for us to gain energy to live in our new journey. Unlike those big things we
can literally see every day; it is our challenge to see how those tiny components look like,
and when we know what is it all about, then we can build some products and book some
plans with making medicines to help us free from diseases, although it is impossible.
3. Look for an article entitled “Nanoethics: the Ethical and Social Implications of
Nanotechnology” by Patrick Lin and Fritz Allholf and make a short reflection paper.
Nanotechnology will eventually impact every area of our world. In its case, those
smaller particles are helping us control ourselves, rebuild those damages, and even fight
against the diseases. Nanoethics seeks to examine the potential risks and rewards of
applications of nanotechnology. Likewise, since it tackles about the smallest particle in the
world, they made a research and experimented about how these tiny particles live and
rule the world. With those cells that live in every part of the world, it indicates the helpful
benefits that they give to us while we are living in our survival journey.
Gene Therapy
1. Assess and discuss the issues potential benefits and detriments of gene therapy to
Global Health.
As what we have said in the pretest questions, gene therapy is like a way to help
us fight against the diseases and prevents ourselves from every dangers. Likewise, its
potential benefit is to replace a faulty gene or adds a new gene in an attempt to cure
disease or improve your body’s ability to fight disease. It even helps to rebuild the
damage the disease has made for that patient’s body. From replacement to inactivation,
and even to introducing a new gene to the family, these are a great help from the
patients who needs it and it may be a hard work for the scientist to discover.

2. Make a simple reflection paper on TED Talk: Susan Lim on Transplant Cells not Organs
That’s why gene therapy is more important than the original transplant. I mean,
first of all, some patients are lucky to save their lives after performing it. Yes, with the
hardships of the doctors to perform a transplant, they said that it was the very easiest
part, but otherwise, millions of patients are also waiting for their performance, yet some
of them had said goodbye to the world. Susan Lim said that it was very emotional and
disappointed to see someone dies because they can’t perform their job well. In
accordance with the topic, I should say that transplanting cells are more possible to save
lives than organs since transplanting cells are easier to do even though it is very small to
find. I mean there is a possibility that a transplant of organs has a possibility to perform
wrong and take the soul to heaven, but just a small particle of cells can save lives between
many people.
First of all, climate change is a change in the pattern of weather, and related
changes in oceans, land surfaces and ice sheets, occurring longer than weather. Climate
change has the power to turn the sunny one into a stormy one, and vice versa, since it
occurs over a decade or longer. Likewise, people are surviving in this kind of challenge
since climate change has the heat hotter than the sun and the cold cooler than the ice.
2. Identify and explain the causes and effects of climate change on society.
First of all, climate change occurs because of everyone around us. First of all,
climate change is a pattern of changing of weather over a year since it was longer, and
one of the causes of climate change is the natural occurrences. There is what we call
“water cycle” and the rain comes from the sea itself. The more water it evaporates from
the sea to the cloud, on the other day, it became terrific since it brings more rain and
stronger than ever when the rain and wind combines. Meanwhile, if we talk about the
society itself, I can claim that the cause of climate change is the society, and the effects
will come to the society, so people just call it a karma. People just throw garbages
everywhere, and it was the simple offense he made to the environment, so as a result, it
became a wall to the canal and a flood occurs. Also, flood occurs because people keeps
cutting down trees for a building to be build. So for the society, human activities are the
cause of occurring climate change, and the effect will just come to us. From the people, to
lands, and their properties, everything may distract or even destroyed.

survive if you have prepared everything. The means and ways of mitigating a hazard is
just like preparing yourself for a new challenge. For instance, there is an upcoming El Nino,
so a family was preparing more edible water for them not to go through thirst. People
should use their brain to survive in this survival world, because if you did nothing, then your
life will be a useless one.
4. Identify some greenhouse gases and explain their “greenhouse effects” that result to
global warming and eventually to global climate change.
First of all, greenhouse gases are gases in Earth’s atmosphere that traps heat. It
was like the invisible umbrella that protects the world from the super heat that was given
by the sun itself. The main greenhouse gases are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane,
ozone, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons. They are the traps that protect the Earth
from the laser-like heatness and just give us light and warmth. But as the environment got
destroyed, of course these greenhouse gases were affected too. Likewise, the ozone layer
just got thinner because of the air pollution caused by the smokes from vehicles, factories,
burning garbages, and others. Likewise, they can be thought as a blanket, since they gave
us not too hot and not to cold atmosphere or temperature.
POST TEST
1. What do you mean by “thermal balance” in atmosphere? Explain its importance and
possible consequences of not maintaining “thermal balance” in the atmosphere.
According to Jetstream (2020), the thermal balance is in its word itself thermal,
which means temperature, and balance, which means equilibrium. In short, it gives us the
balance between the hotness and the coldness between the temperatures of the Earth. The
Earth is much cooler than the sun, that’s why the collaboration between the heat and the
coldness is just equal to what the temperature we need. But if we cannot reach the equal
balance of the temperature, we might burn our skin if it’s too hot or we might be so frozen
if it’s too cold. Likewise, it is important that everyone should wear the exact cloth for the
exact temperature and protect themselves from these happenings.
2. Make a reflection paper about the article, “An Inconvenient Truth: The Planetary
Emergency of Global Warming and What we can do About this” by Al Gore.
This article is all about the happenings of the Earth that got worsen day by day. Al
Gore explained the fast changes between the environment in the past and today’s present.
Likewise, it is a must that we should be ready and prepare for the effects of the global
warming in this area. We should also stop being blind and do something to stop and
prevent the coming of these challenging climates. It is not a fictional ones, but in an epic
story, there is what we call the conflict between man and the environment, and that’s what
the earth has been said to us for the past years, so in order to protect the earth at all cost,
we must do something to make it look good as cleaner and greener as ever.

In today’s era, people made themselves an idiot for doing nothing, and a crazy
one for expecting that everything will be easy. Again, there is no thing as an easy job.
With this society, no one can survive with being humble itself, because being too soft will
not survive you in this kind of society. We are all beautiful by God, but not by the eyes of
the society, since everyone has their judgmental world. With this judgments and
inequalities, what should be the role of Philosophy? In this era, philosophy’s role isn’t a
game, or a beauty itself, but a guide and a motivation that we can survive in this
challenging world. The role of Philosophy is for you to be motivated to boost your
confidence in facing the world because it gives you facts and opinions, truths and
misconceptions, advices and quotations. The little world will be bigger if you believe in the
beauty of your heart, and the emotions that you bring may just be a big picture for your
future.
2. What are the roles of technology and modern technology toward the attainment of
good life by humans?
Technology always gives you the easiest way to make and create everything.
Technology may be appliances or gadgets, so with these proofs, we can imagine the
works we need to do. Likewise, when the technology was created, our lives are relaxed
and our works are just made in one snap. The role of technology to the world is to make
your life easier. For instance, you should stop wasting your time on creating some letters
and deliver it to someone, because messenger is being created. You should stop wasting
your efforts on typing on typewriters and throw it if it was wrong, because a computer
and a printer was invented. You should stop wasting your energy on washing these clothes,
because a washing machine was made. In short, technology gave you an improvement and
easy jobs, and you should say there are more improvements in the future.
3. How do you reconcile the used for technology and the dilemma it faces?
Technology always gives you an improvement for everything, and gave you an
easier job to be done, so technology is useful, as always. But if it makes you confused for
not working it properly, or if something has made a problem, then people always tends to
worry and be frustrated for a long time. Sometimes, the gadget starts fooling you around
because it has a problem, so you start whining about is, but we cannot stop the problem if
we don’t do anything. Likewise, it is a better solution if you cope up with a solution and try
to solve it, since it is an only way to make a problem solved.
I was surprised by this question, thinking of the questions which relates to the ethics
itself. I mean, is there no made ethics related to these technologies? Anyways, technology
is a useful thing for us to make everything done in a short period of time. In the contrary,

technology always comes up to the point that is was fooling around or starts to stop by
itself, just because of thinking that it had a problem. I reacted like that because that is
possible not to have an ethics to technology. Likewise, if there is an ethics to the
technology, then I should think of the risk management and the individual rights since these
two are the most important part of taking care of these technologies. There should be an
ethics because we should protect ourselves from the danger it brings and we should be
careful in using it.
5. Differentiate brain drain from brain gain. Discuss their socio-economic impact to
society.
6. Why preserving Philippine biodiversity? Discuss and explain your roles as a student
in preserving Philippine biodiversity.
As I have known, the agriculture in the Philippines back then is a very successful one. The
Philippines is one of the countries that is rich in agriculture since it has full of crops and
trees. We are known because of the agriculture we have produced back then. Also,
people from the different countries came here to learn about agriculture that’s why they
even went to schools in the Philippines. When they go back, they practiced what they have
learned and made their own garden or farm. With this chance, I must say we have to
preserve our biodiversity. Likewise, it is a blessing for us to receive this kind of place that
is rich in agriculture. From the mountains to the seas, just like Mayon Volcano and Puerto
Prinsesa, we have found some treasures in the Philippines, wherein tourists explore them
and found the beautiful scenario here, that’s why we are here to preserve the Philippine
biodiversity.
In this situation, people tend to forget about the use of everything in the world. This
era is a gadget world since they cannot throw their phones back. Likewise, they forget
what really is the use of the nature and their mission in this world. Since everything has
covered with science and technology, the society meant to protect the whole world, but it
turns out that they broke that promise. Everyone knows that this time is a more challenging
journey since everyone lives with their judgments and misconceptions. But with the use of
Science and Technology, and even Society, the world has created a beautiful chapter of
their own story.
