Module on Forms of Art from Different Regions.
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from
public institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet
the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social,
and economic constraints in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help
learners acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their
needs and circumstances.
As a facilitator you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module.
You also need to keep track of the learners' progress while allowing them to
manage their own learning. Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and
assist the learners as they do the tasks included in the module.

Module on Forms of Art from Different Regions
Contemporary art is the art of today, produced by artists who are living in our time. It
provides opportunities to reflect on society and the issues that are important to us and
the world. It is part of a cultural dialogue that concerns larger contextual frameworks
such as identity, family, community, and nationality. In this lesson it will tackle the
different forms of art from different regions.
This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for
guided and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to
process the contents of the learning resource while being an active learner.
In this module, we will delve the different arts forms from different regions and
how it brings out Filipino’s creativity in art.
The Philippines has a variety of many other art forms and as we define art, it is
the expression of one’s feeling through creating something out of their imagination.
Contemporary art, to be put simply, is art of today. From a painting to a sculpture and
from photography to a performance, it can be anything as long as it is produced in
today’s era. With no specific medium or apparatus, Contemporary Art has been
interpreted differently in different times and different regions.
Art it is the expression of one’s feeling through creating something out of their
imagination and history and culture of the Philippines are reflected in its art,
Contemporary arts is defined as the art of today. From a painting to a sculpture and
from photography to a performance, it can be anything as long as it is produced in
today’s era.

3. cite ways to promote art forms.

In the previous modules, you have learned about what Contemporary Art is, its
forms, its different practices from the regions and its significance. Various artists with
great contributions to arts were also introduced including the roles they play in the field
of art and even on the richness of our culture.
Art forms may vary from different regions it is because of the experiences,
resources, materials, cultures and beliefs people in a certain region are practicing.
Nonetheless, art forms represent the society and their traditions.
Do you know any artwork or form of art that your place is known for? Tell
something about it by writing a description of not less than five sentences. Work on
this short activity in your answer sheet.
Art, in its many forms, should be both preserved and explored. Art can be a
response to a certain need or it could also be a form of escape. With the presence of
many agencies and commissions promoting art preservation, it is but safe to say that
art lives forever. Art does exist in every person, family, community, every culture, and
every country. Art has begun the moment life has started. It blended well from the
time man strived for survival until in these times where, even separately taken, art
becomes a subject and likewise an expression.
It’s not right for someone to say that she/he is not artistic or not born with any
talent. Art is in all of us. Creating art comes out naturally from within. Every culture
has art. Like language and laughter, art is a fundamental human behavior. Art
represents a part of our being. Humans need art because it’s as vital as the air we
breathe.
2. Art is a form of communication.
Art can also be a tangible record or evidence of what transpired in the past. It
talks about preservation of culture, a life of a significant individual, one’s prowess in a
particular field and even those which cannot be perceived by our naked eyes, but
much felt by our being. Art makes us understand history. PIt reflects the values,
beliefs and identity we have in every region. It introduces different communities that
make up our world. It can express our life on a sculpture, in a song, in a dance or on
a canvas.
5. Art is a shared experience.
Art is a collective activity. It offers us a reason to come together and share in an
experience. We need art to keep us connected. Other people’s 0works become the
inspiration of others.
