 A unique combination of individual qualities which enable others to achieve collective and
personal goals.
 Leaders has existed from the very beginning of human beings. It is needed in every profession.
In the field of physical education, leadership is also required to ensure continues growth and
vitality of the profession.
 It is a critical situation that leaders emerge from among students now preparing for this
profession. If leaders emerge, the profession of physical will expand and prosper. But if leaders
do not emerge, the profession of physical education will become worse.
 Indeed, leadership is the art of influencing people to work together in the achievement of
professionals as well as personal goals.
LEADERSHIP QUALITIES
There are some personal and professional qualities which are necessary for the leadership in the
field of physical education.

1. Energetic
o To be energetic is necessary for a leader in the field of physical education. In fact, it is
the basic requirements of this profession.
2. Friendliness and affection
o Friendliness and affection are also the necessary qualities for a leader in the profession.
These qualities are developed through physical education programs and Olympic Games
especially during training as well as competitions.
3. Decisiveness
o A leader in the field of physical education should be decisive. It means he should have
the ability to decide or to take decision spontaneously.
4. Technically skilled
o A leader in the field of physical education should be technically skilled he should be an
expert in his discipline and specialization.
5. Intelligent
o A leader in physical education should have intelligence. In fact, intelligence is the ability
of an individual to find out the possible solution of various complex problems.

opportunity to explore other avenues.

o Leaders Listen! This is the most important attribute of all, listen to your followers.
