1.Define “History” based from the various perspectives given by historians.
History is the study of change over time, and it covers all aspects of human society. Political,
social, economic, scientific, technological, medical, cultural, intellectual, religious and military
developments are all part of history. Usually professional historians specialize in a particular aspect of
history, a specific time period, a certain approach to history or a specific geographic region.
2.Why is the Filipino term for history “Kasaysayan”?
The root word ‘saysay’ means to tell/ relate / recount’ how something happened; it also
mean (sense), ( story) (explanation), (significance) or (meaning). The word ‘kasaysayan’ gets
deeper, more relevant meaning. History becomes ‘the sense or meaning of action or an event.
3. Explain how there are so little usable materials left to historians to use.
Historians use tools to help them do their job. Some of these tools are primary sources. A
primary source is something written or created by a person who saw a historical event. Letters, diaries,
speeches, and photographs are examples of primary sources. Artifacts such as tools are also primary
