Test V-write a 400-word persuasive essay that attempts to explain why governments
should fund a local historical research? Suggest possible ways in which the government
could help facilitate the promotion of local History. Use logical reasoning supported
with examples.

ANSWER:

Local history reflects the reality that our lives are shaped by particular places
and that our physical place in the world is a major determinant to how our lives are
lived. It is the study of the everyday struggles and triumphs of ordinary people. Local
history is expectedly closest to the people's heart and consciousness because it reflects
their own identity, experiences and aspirations. It is the interpretative recreation of the
past of their locality, embracing its political, social, economic, and cultural life .
The government should fund a local research so that it enables to explore and
explain the meaning, phases and characteristics of a phenomenon or process at a
particular point of time in the past. It plays an important role in protecting and
preserving the historical record and also interpret the past to the public. The
government is the who can do whatever they want, because they have power to do so,
so that they will be the one would do everything to just keep our history not be
forgotten. The best way to preserve our culture is to keep it alive. Learning about
history turns the ground patterns of historical change into concrete stories that tell of
the lies of individuals. By this day, the only thing that government do to help individual
who promote this kind of activities is to have their full support, in order for us to be
successfully done and for people to be educated what happened in the past that truly is
amazing and we should be proud of. One of the things, we need to do is campaign
awareness about local history, and we must target the teenager because, they are the
one who are active in social media, and by social media it is the fastest way to spread
news and everything.
History is very important, we should do anything for people who love to study
history and know everything about it, and also, for those people who don’t know
anything, it helps them to be educated. We need to preserve it, for the future sources.
