    The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) was established through
    the enactment of Republic Act No. 7796 otherwise known as the "Technical Education and Skills
    Development Act of 1994", which was signed into law by President Fidel V. Ramos on August 25,
    1994.
    An act creating the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority providing for its
    powers, structure and for other purposes.
    (Sec. 1) This shall be known as the: ”Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994”
    or the TESDA Act of 1994.”
    (Sec. 2) the state should provide high quality and efficient technical education and skills
    development for the accomplishment of Philippine development goals and priorities.
    ❖ TESDA Curriculum: CBC (Competency Based Curriculum)

    ❖ TESDA Curriculum: TVET (Technical-Vocational Education and Training)

    • NC
    - A National Certificate (NC) is issued when a candidate has demonstrated competence
    in all units of competency that comprised a Qualification. Certificate of Competency
    (COC) is issued to individuals who have satisfactorily demonstrated competence on a
    particular or cluster of units of competency.
    • TM
    • The TRAINERS METHODOLOGY LEVEL I consists of competencies a TVET trainer
    performing functions of trainer and assessor must achieve. A TVET trainer is a person
    who enables a learner or a group of learners to develop competencies to performing a
    particular trade or technical work.
    • NTTC
    - Basically, an NTTC is a certificate granted by TESDA to TMC holders who have proven
    to be experts in their fields of specialization with at least 2 years of industry background.
    • ASSESSOR
    • After gaining NC, TM, NTTC, conduct assessment loading and atleast two years of
    teaching or industry experience. The papers evaluated by tesda will confirmed by the
    Provincial Director.

    BOTTOMLINE / SUMMARY
    The goal of policy is to determine the worth or merit of some procedure, project, process,
    or product. The role that policy may play will vary depending on the timing, the specific decision
    making to addressed, and the resources available. It is best to think of policy not as a rule but
    as a strategy and innovation to specific goal. The goal of TESDA is to measure their worth by
    means of satisfaction of the customers they serve. The TESDA should provide an ongoing source
    of information that can aid decision making at various steps along the way.
