Lesson plan

Teacher:
Level: 6th grade,
Textbook used: Workbook, Ed. Booklet
Language focus: Present Simple Tense
Materials used: board, workbook,
Time: 45 minutes.
Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing

Competences:
 Students will be able to use correctly present simple
 Students will be able to ask and answer questions about their daily routine
 Students will be able to talk about their family members’ routine

Activity 1:- Warm-up


organizing the class , checking homework
Aim: - to warm up the class atmosphere;
- to get students to relax and to get ready for the lesson;
Time: 8 minutes
Procedure: Teacher tries to create a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere by means
of routine conversation: greetings,
Teacher checks the children’s homework: exercises 5 and 6 from their
workbooks. Students read their homework with the whole class, the teacher gives them
feed-back.

Activity 2: writing activity


Aim: to practise vocabulary connected to daily activities
Time: 5 minutes.
Procedure: Teacher draws a table on the board and writes the verbs do, have and
make. She asks students to put the words in the correct column in order to make up
expressions. students work in pairs, the teacher monitors them and then she elicits the
answers. Teacher gives students feedback.

Activity 3 : Speaking activity


Aim: to talk about the routine of their family members
Time: 15 minutes.
Procedure: Teacher asks students to read the exercise 8 and to name who in their
families does the activities.
Activity 4 : Practice - Speaking and writing
Aim: to practise present simple in the affirmative and negative forms
Time: 12 minutes.
Procedure: Teacher asks students to put the words in the correct order to make up
sentences.
Teacher assures that students have understood their task and elicits answers in
pairs.
Students come to the blackboard and write some of the examples they have
given orally.

Activity 5: Feedback and homework.


Aim: to revise the vocabulary connected to daily activities and to assign homework
Time: 5 minutes
Procedure: Teacher asks students about their favourite daily activities . They discuss
about them orally with the whole class.
Teacher assigns students homework for the next time: They have to do the exercise 8 a
from their workbooks. Teacher assures that students have understood their task and
gives them feedback.
