ARTICLE IV:
OFFICERS
A. List of Officers
The officers shall be:
FIHS President (2)
There is a maximum of 2 president positions available for FIHS. The presidents are responsible for the
coordination and facilitation of all FIHS events.
1. Call meetings to order
2. Work in the organization and coordination of meetings and events
3. Enforce or carry out any contract agreements made with sponsors or outside parties.
4. Recruit students to join FIHS.
5. Take the initiative! Work with other FIHS officers to ensure success and ongoing improvement.
6. Attend all meetings
7. Oversee contribution of all officers and members.
8. Stay involved with HPAC
9. Meet with Student Life once per quarter
10. Attend cluster meetings
11. Make general meeting PowerPoint presentations
FIHS Vice President
The vice president shall work to ensure the function and organization of FIHS. The vice president shall also
take the place of the president if needed.
1. Organize committees for events
2. Coordinate with guest speakers
3. Recruit medical or health professionals to events and meetings.
4. Attend officer meetings to discuss club policy, fund allocations, etc.
5. Provide leadership, take the initiative
6. Attend APISAC meetings
7. Attend POC meetings
8. Attend SCPASA Pre-Health
9. Attend all general and cabinet meetings
FIHS Secretary
The secretary shall complete all clerical duties.
1. Write detailed minutes at each meeting, both general and officer.
2. Collaborate with fellow officers to promote best interest of club.
3. Assist in planning and coordinating FIHS events.
4. Be present at all clinics/general meetings/officer meetings
5. Make sign-up sheets
6. Keep track of all hours (with sign-up sheets)
7. Attend all general and cabinet meetings

B. Duties and responsibilities of officers
Must complete all duties assigned of respective position. If needed, responsibilities can be distributed
amongst officers.
C. Qualifications for becoming an officer
1. Must have active interest in promoting Filipino success in Health sciences.
2. Must be able to work in a collaborative effort with other students.
3. Must have demonstrated active participation in meetings, events, and functions.
D. Terms of office
Beginning May of the prior academic year, each officer must perform respective duties. They will complete
a one-year term. Outgoing officers make selections based on interviews.
E. Procedure for filling vacated offices

New officers will be informed within one week of interviews via email or phone.
ARTICLE VI:
COMMITTEES
A. Formation of Committees
Committees are chosen based on the need specific to certain events, i.e. fundraising, and are formed by the
officer spearheading the event. Committees could be comprised of both fellow officers and general
members.
ARTICLE VII:
MEETINGS
A. Types of meetings
1. Board meetings: attended by all board members.
2. General meetings: open to all UCR students.
B. Time and occurrence of meetings
1. General meetings shall be held at least once a month.
2. Board meetings shall be held once a week.
C. Special meetings
To be held for large events that require committees.
D. Quorum
1. Requires 2/3 of active members.
2. To establish a minimum requirement in order for amendments and elections to take place.
E. Method of conducting meetings
1. Board meetings
Executive Cabinet will plan content of each board meeting. All officers will plan the content of the
general meetings. Each committee and/or officer will present any issues regarding responsibilities and
concerns.
2. General meetings
Will be run by all of cabinet. Will follow agenda planned during board meetings. Will present old and
new business, and leave room for suggestions from all active members.
ARTICLE VIII:
FINANCIAL RECORDS
A. Dues
1. $25 for new members
2. $20 for returning
B. Budget expenditures
The FIHS treasurer and Presidents shall authorize all transactions and reimbursements. They will
appropriately distribute funds according to best interest of the club.
ARTICLE IX:
ADVISORS
A. Selection of Advisors
HPAC is the appointed advisor for FIHS
B. Qualifications
Required to have previous experience, a focus on community health, and the ability to provide resources.
C. Terms of office
Indefinite number of terms
D. Roles/Duties of an advisor
Advisor must provide guidance to officers/committees throughout the academic year.

A 2/3 majority of officers is required to approve all changes to or creating additional
amendments. Amendments may only be considered at the end of the academic year (Spring Quarter).
