Narrative adventure titles are getting the spotlight they deserve at GOG, where you can save on both new and old entries in the genre. We love this year’s The Crimson Diamond for its modern retreading of classic titles (even if its text parser interface is occasionally awkward). If you’d like to try your hand at cracking the case, you can currently pick it up from GOG for just $13.49 (was $14.99).

Other highlights include the 30th Anniversary Collection of Myst, our favorite Peter Gabriel vehicle, which is on sale for $42.53 (was $98.93). We’re also taken by discounts on games from pre-eminent point-and-click developer Wadjet Eye Games, responsible for hits like Gemini Rue and Resonance, plus deals on Telltale Games titles including The Walking Dead Definitive Series and The Wolf Among Us. There are plenty of other titles on sale that fall outside the usual adventure game criteria.
In case you need some guidance to the best deals, we’ve picked out a handful of our favorites along with a brief synopsis of each for you to check out below.
The Crimson Diamond
Inspired by classic Sierra On-Line text parser titles like the King’s Quest and the Laura Bow series, The Crimson Diamond retains the charm of these retro titles while sanding away many of the rough edges, making it more accessible to modern audiences.
Myst 30th Anniversary Collection
This comprehensive collection of all nine Myst titles are sure to rattle your brain. It includes everything from the 1999 Myst: Masterpiece Edition to the VR-compatible retelling of the original game published in 2021.
The Walking Dead Definitive Series
The Walking Dead Definitive Series is the ideal way to experience Telltale Games’ undead anthology. This remastered collection includes the four original Clementine-centric seasons in addition to the 400 Days and Michonne spin-offs.
The Wolf Among Us
Based on Bill Willingham’s Fables series published for DC Comics, The Wolf Among Us follows Bigby, a private eye charged with keeping tabs on the seedy, fairy tale denizens of Fabletown in this five-episode title from Telltale Games.
Thimbleweed Park
The spiritual successor to Maniac Mansion, Thimbleweed Park was developed by industry legend Ron Gilbert and uses the same verb-based interface made famous by classic adventure titles like The Secret of Monkey Island and Simon the Sorcerer.
Resonance
An ambitious title from Wadjet Eye Games, Resonance has you swapping between four characters and subverts the usual point-and-click inventory puzzles with a clever short- and long-term memory system.
Gemini Rue
A point-and-click adventure that draws inspiration from cyberpunk classics like Cowboy Bebop and Blade Runner, Gemini Rue has you swap between two different characters as they attempt to unravel a sinister conspiracy.
Wasteland 3
The Wasteland Rangers are going to the Rockies. Wasteland 3 was penned by many of the same developers who worked on the original Wasteland from 1988, and is a great option if you’re in the mood for a post-apocalyptic RPG with the tongue-in-cheek humor and witticisms from the pre-Bethesda Fallout games.
Torment: Tides of Numenera
An RPG inspired by the classics, Torment: Tides of Numenera is considered a spiritual successor to the legendary Planescape: Torment, and was developed by many of the same people. Featuring a complex narrative and a vivid isometric art style, Tides of Numenera is a great option for anyone who’s sick of the typical fantasy or post-apocalyptic settings.
The Gods Will be Watching
Every decision you make in Gods Will Be Watching will make you second guess yourself. A minimalist adventure that forces you to make tough calls and illustrates the power of peer pressure, Gods Will Be Watching feels both traumatic and real.
Norco
A point-and-click adventure title that focuses primarily on dialogue, Norco is a rich, multigenerational mystery set against the backdrop of the surreal American south.
Narita Boy
Narita Boy is a neon-tinted platformer about a boy that gets sucked into a video game that has an absolutely killer soundtrack. The perfect title to tide over those waiting for Hyper Light Breaker, Narita Boy is currently discounted to its lowest price ever on GOG at just $2.49 (was $24.99).
Dredge
The eldritch fishing simulator Dredge recently received a new piece of DLC: The Iron Rig expansion. While seemingly normal at first, you’ll dredge (wink) some strange creatures and tales from the deep, dark sea. Just make sure not to stay awake for too long without rest.
