Warhammer 40K: Darktide is a co-op horde shooter that has you and a team of three other condemned souls delving into a hive city to root out the forces of chaos. The gameplay of Darktide will be familiar to fans of the Left 4 Dead or Vermintide franchises, which forces your team to coordinate while accomplishing a set of objectives, all while fending off endless waves of baddies. Right now, you can pick up Warhammer 40K: Darktide from Humble for just $21.99 (was $39.99).
Warhammer 40K: Battlesector runs on a rough, grid-based interpretation of the tabletop 40K ruleset. Hits and rolls are determined on a per-unit basis, and many of the most popular units and abilities from the ninth edition onward make an appearance. Post-launch DLC has also added the Necrons, Orks, Tau, Adeptus Sororitas, and Daemons of Chaos, along with some free-form campaign modes to test them out. Battlesector is currently available for $23.99 at Humble (was $39.99).
Warhammer’s introduction to the boomer-shooter genre, Boltgun, features plenty of chunky pixels and wanton destruction as you bring both bolter and chain sword to bear against the enemies of the imperium of man. You can currently pick up the Forges of Corruption Edition of Boltgun, which includes the base game and its recently released expansion, for just $17.99 from Humble (was $24.99).
The perfect game for anyone who believes that the diplomatic victory in Civilization is more of a suggestion, Warhammer 40K: Gladius is a turn-based strategy game with more than a passing similarity to the established 4X franchise. Gladius is currently on sale for $7.99 from Humble (was $39.99).
Keeping the forces of Chaos at bay is a full-time job, but since you aren’t a Grey Knight, I wouldn’t expect you to know that. But, if you think you’ve got what it takes to fill the silver boots of humanity’s ward against Chaos, you’ll want to check out Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters which is currently available for just $13.49 from Humble (was $44.99).
Why should dem stoopid ‘umies get all the fun? Warhammer 40K: Shootas, Blood & Teef is all about loot, dakka, and WAAAGGGH! Just like the Orks, this game refuses to take itself too seriously, giving us a side-scrolling shooter with a cartoony presentation and a totally different vibe than what we usually find in the grim darkness of the 41st millennium. You can pick up Shootas, Blood & Teef for $11.99 from Humble (was $19.99).
Space Marine plays into the fantasy of being an eight-foot-tall armored wrecking ball by placing you in the armored boots of one of Ultramar’s finest. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine is one of the older picks on our list, but it’s still worth checking out if you’ve never tried it. Normally, this aged title is still $59.99, but you can pick up a copy from Humble for $17.99 right now.
