I’m a writer at Wirecutter covering laptops, keyboards, mice, and other tech.
I’ve been Wirecutter’s resident laptop expert for more than a decade. In that time, I’ve tested hundreds of laptops—including ultrabooks, gaming laptops, Chromebooks, and budget Windows laptops—as well as thousands of keyboards, mice, and other peripherals.
When I was a broke college student working toward my journalism degree at Hofstra University, my laptop died. So I skipped meals and scraped together funds to buy a new one. But that laptop that I worked so hard for turned out to be awful—it frequently blue-screened, and its fans emitted a constant screech. Ever since, I’ve dedicated my career to saving others from the same fate of wasting hard-earned money on a crummy laptop.
Before joining Wirecutter in 2014, I wrote about tech for The Verge and ABC News. I moved from Brooklyn to Buffalo, New York, where I currently live with my partner and our cat, Artemis. In my spare time, I build mechanical keyboards, tend to my garden, and play too many video games.
As a Wirecutter journalist, I share the values and adhere to the standards of integrity outlined in our editorial standards. In accordance with Wirecutter’s ethics policy, I return or donate all products after testing is complete, and I do not accept any gifts, money, or favors.
