TRIP ITINERARY
Tour to the Sacred Valley
In the morning (8.30 am) we will pick you up at your hotel and start the excursion passing through Sacsayhuaman over the mountains towards the Sacred Valley.
We descend 1500 feet to the bottom of the valley, where we find ourselves next to the sacred Urubamba river and the town of Pisac.
In Pisac, we stop to visit a traditional market, where you can browse and buy some local souvenirs if you wish. We will spend about 30 minutes there.
Then, we will go to the Archaeological Center of Pisac. Here we will explore the extensive citadel while enjoying breathtaking views over the valley; You will be given a guided tour of the Pisac Citadel, where we will see temples, houses, altars, carvings, tunnels, caves and the famous Intihuatana, “El que Amarra al Sol”.
We continue to Urubamba, where we stop for lunch.
Then we will continue for 30 more minutes until we reach Ollantaytambo, surrounded by sacred mountains. We will spend about an hour here. In Ollantaytambo, we will have the best views of the Inca constructions, mainly the incredible Temple of the Sun, huge blocks of rock perfectly carved and polished, stone water fountains, stairs and terraces. We can also see the beauty of the local people in their traditional dress, surrounded by the sacred mountains and the Patacancha and Willoq Valley.
On our return we will visit the famous church and archaeological site of Chincheros. We return to Cusco around 6:30/7pm.
