    “After living in Oklahoma for 60+ years and with climate change happening more rapidly than we thought, we decided to get some tornado protection. We thought the Oklahoma City Home Show would be a good place to start so we went and saw about 10 or 12 different shelter vendors on display. After hearing one of my employees' stories about cramming 14 people into his garage floor shelter, we knew we didn't want to be any part of that experience. Most of what we saw at the Home Show were giant sardine cans for either above or below ground. Your cell phone would be blocked from working by the thick metal and they were just downright ugly to have below or above ground. Then we saw the only shelter at the show that seemed to be just what we were looking for: above ground, nice looking, no interference with cell phone transmission or reception and engineered to be the safest possible above ground shelter that could be assembled practically anywhere and still feel like a real room in your home. We also knew and trusted the name DuPont for engineering and professionalism. We knew their scientists who invented bullet-proof Kevlar would engineer a product we could trust. It met all the FEMA tests for safety and the only question left was can we trust the contractor to do it right and treat us right. We found both of these elements to be a solid plus in Philip Slater and Oklahoma Storm Rooms. We felt confident in Philip's thorough knowledge of his product and his ability to construct our 4 x 8 ft. shelter exactly where we needed it to be. He never let us down on any account. He supervised and took an active part in the construction of our Storm Room and we were more than pleased with him, his work and his product. We received no kind of discount or any other consideration for this recommendation. It is a pleasure to write a recommendation when you're lucky enough to do business with someone like Philip Slater. A job well done and a product worth having are reason enough to be recommending Philip to you. He's the real deal and we were pleased with every phase of his work.     “I'm a disabled veteran and we needed our house to be wheelchair accessible. We hired Garrett because after searching, we found that he does a lot of remodeling or building accessible homes. We also found he does a lot of veterans home for accessibility. Anyway, they are very professional and pay attention to detail. We added about 1500 square feet to our existing house. He knows all the requirements that need to be met to satisfy the Veterans Administration. He has great ideas when you are stumped on the design. The crew gets here every morning, and right at 7:00am they first hammer hits the wood. I think it is a wake up call and to let us know they are here. Lol. Personally I could wait till 9:00am. Well I just don't know what to write here other than I would strongly suggest that if you need work done and your looking for a contractor, here he is. He does a lot more than just accessibility issues and is a busy man. That helped me to decide to hire him. I used to,do remodeling and building before Military service. Being real busy is a sign that there is a lot of customers who are passing your name around. It was for me, so I take that into consideration.”

    “Jo Meacham, of Urban Kitchens, through two seperate remodel projects has transformed my home. The first project was a Kitchen, Den, Bath, and Laundry room makeover where every surface was changed...floors, walls, ceiling...new appliances, new fixtures etc. The second project was a master bedroom and bath remodel. Again...every surface was changed. I coulndt be happier with the results. Jo listened to our desires and delivered on designs that exceeded what we could have thought of on our own.”

The finish-out is attractive and workmanly, and Oak Leaf's attention to detail is evident throughout the house. Jim Greene is himself respectful and easy to work with. We would recommend Oak Leaf to friends (and, in fact, have at every opportunity).”

Derek and his team were so friendly and a such a joy to work with in the home. it was easy to trust them and that meant a lot.
