If you’re trying to achieve a clean, modern look in the bathroom, you’ll want a vanity to match. With streamlined designs and minimal detailing, modern vanities are ideal for maintaining an uncluttered bathroom that’ll help you feel rejuvenated. While you search for the best designer bathroom vanities for your home, keep the following pointers in mind.
How Much Room Do You Have?
It probably comes as no surprise that one of the first things you should figure out is how much room you have for a new bathroom vanity. That means it’s time to take out the measuring tape. But this also means you’ll have to decide whether you have room for a vanity with two sinks, or just one. Single modern vanities can actually have a lot of charm and are perfect for a powder room or guest bath. On the other hand, if you’re renovating a master bathroom, it might mean a lot less stress to have a double modern vanity with two sinks.
What Kind of Sink Style Do You Prefer?
Modern bathroom vanities go great with sinks that are a bit out of the ordinary. If you really want to make a statement, look for vessel sinks that sit on top of the counter like a bowl. For something a bit more subtle, look for vanity tops with integrated sinks. With this style, the countertop simply slopes downward in a clean line to direct water. A modern vanity sink can be anything you want — it just depends on what is practical for your family.
Wall-Mounted or Freestanding?
Finally, take a look at the variety of modern sink vanity designs out there. Wall-mounted modern vanities are typically boxy in shape, and some don’t touch the ground at all. Keep in mind, that means you need to ensure there’s flooring underneath your vanity if there wasn’t before. Still, you can also find freestanding vanities with legs if you prefer a more transitional look.

In the early 1970’s, Richard Wolter spent his days in the local factory, his evenings and weekends in his basement, building cabinetry for family and friends. It wasn’t long before he realized he had more interest in his cabinets than a part-time job could fulfill. In 1984, he started Wolter’s Custom Cabinets as a full-time business. Quickly outgrowing his basement, Rich built a small finishing shop behind his home. Before long, it too, did not provide enough room for his growing business. With great anticipation, ground was broken for a full-scale cabinet shop to be built. As his kids slept above the midnight hammering, the new shop would provide him the opportunity to separate his business and home. Large shed, concrete flooring—the kids had a great new roller-skating rink. After kicking the kids out, he now had space for cabinet building from raw wood to finished product. In 2011, Wolter’s Custom Cabinets officially entered into its second generation of ownership when Rich’s son Glenn joined the team to continue what his father started. Relocating the shop to the latest addition provides Glenn the opportunity to create a more efficient flow of production, detailed with latest technology. Glenn is fully engaged in the entire process of new cabinetry. From the home show floor to your dining room table, Glenn is involved in the designing, measuring, building, and installation of every job. He is happy to meet to discuss your cabinetry needs without any commitment or obligation. Wolter’s Custom Cabinets builds kitchens, baths, bars, entertainment and fireplace mantles in a variety of woods and stains. With the same craftsmanship and integrity, Glenn has brought the business that Rich established into 1984 to the 21st century.
