Many of the longer Gardenweb kitchen reveal threads lost text and photo content when they were imported into Houzz. The good news is, Tamara says the data is not lost, but the threads will have to be repaired manually. No time frame yet, as they’re still working on other issues. We’re keeping up with the lost content issue in this thread: Kitchen Reveal Threads Missing Photos and Text Currently, you can still see 2LittleFishie’s intact threads by finding the cached version in Google. I looked at those and thought they were very bulky looking?? I was looking for decent priced, real leather (not bonded or otherwise) counter stools for weeks. Found these on overstock.com, I got them in black, tons of good reviews so I went for it. First set came in with a broken leg, but I reordered and the second set was fine. Leather is very nice, legs aren't the best, but for the price you can't beat them. The height is 26", little higher than what i would have liked, but we've eaten at the bar with them and it's fine. the backs come just above the counter, nice look. Read all the reviews and see what you think. I'm giving you a link to the brown, since that's what you have pictured. Oh, and they sell out frequently but seem to get them back quick enough. Hi Janine, my kitchen also has a cherry island, cream cabinets, oak floors and ss appliances. My granite is Venetian Gold. I opted for wood stools that are a very close match to the island ...although not a perfect match. I am pretty happy with the choice. I thought the wood finish would show less dirt and wear than painted ones. We have young grandchildren, and our stools get heavy duty use. I like the neutral backdrop. When I am in the mood I add spots of color with cut flowers and accessories and I can change the colors with the seasons.

Thanks for all the information! calumin -- I don't have a lot of space behind the seating (42" aisle) so would prefer the saddle seat stools (no back) to allow for more room. I think my kids will be the only ones using the seating anyway. The stools I picked have nice padding. Ben1980 - thanks -- I originally wanted a 12" overhang, but didn't account for the doors on the pantry taking up space, so decided to go with an 11" overhang to maintain my planned 42" aisle. Although they're not needed, I do have corbels for decorative purposes (and will offer support as well).
