After a global box office run that yielded $1.33 billion in receipts, Deadpool & Wolverine bowed on Disney+ to 19.4 million views in its first six days on Disney+, the studio said Nov. 18. That’s the best bow for a live action title on Disney+ and Hulu since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (which grossed $859 million in 2022 in theaters).

The network and the Disney-owned streaming service have signed a new, multi-year deal. Fox’s primetime shows — ranging from The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers to the Gordon Ramsay culinary universe — will keep streaming on Hulu the day after their on-air premieres. Netflix says 108 million people worldwide tuned in to the Nov. 15 spectacle between social media star turned boxer Jake Paul and 58-year-old former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson. Despite a glitchy telecast, the event was the biggest boxing draw in recent years, though probably not in history. Worldwide viewing numbers are notoriously fuzzy, but it’s likely the biggest fight since a 2017 match between Wladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua drew a nine-figure worldwide audience (with estimates ranging as high as 500 million viewers).

Disney Tops Media Distributor Ranking
The start of football season was a boon to several media companies in September — including Disney, which once again claimed the No. 1 spot in Nielsen‘s rankings of TV distributors. Disney outlets accounted for 11.3 percent of all TV use in the United States for Nielsen’s September measurement period (which ran from Aug. 26-Sept. 29). That’s up from 9.5 percent in August and marks the company’s ninth time in the top spot in the 11 months Nielsen has shared distributor data.
With 'Moana 2,' 'Wicked' and 'Gladiator II' on the table, domestic revenue for the five-day holiday corridor is expected to hit an all-time high north of $300 million.
Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans' Christmas pic 'Red One' still didn't have any trouble winning the weekend in North America, while Ridley Scott's 'Gladiator' ruled offshore.
