About this ebook

One crazy night. Two star-crossed lovers. And baby makes three.

Stacy

It took a while for the two pink positive pregnancy lines to sink in. I was a basket case at first since the father isn't in the picture. When he shows up out of the blue, we're both in for the surprise of our lives.

Regis loves the limelight, but this baby's about to steal the show. Will he steal my heart and weaken my resolve to raise our child away from the public's prying eyes?

Regis

The first time I laid eyes on her, I knew she was the one. But she slipped out in the middle of the night, and all I have is her first name–Stacy.

There are a million people in the world with her name, but only one woman like her. When I find her, I won't let her go again so easily.

But will a surprise baby change everything?

A small town, blue collar, steamy second chance romance with a secret baby and a flirty vibe that will send your heart reeling. Guaranteed HEA. No cliffhangers. No cheating.

Warning: When this smooth talking rock star falls head over heels for the one who got away, he'll tour the world to find her again. If you love cinnamon roll alphas, curvy women, and sticky sweet steamy romance, then you'll love Stacy and Regis and the secret baby who'll have your heart wrapped around its itty bitty finger.

If you're a hopeful romantic at heart and love steamy, short, small-town, swoony romances, then the blue collar Home Wreckers Construction crew is your special kind of catnip. Don your hardhats and prepare for a bedtime story that'll give you all the warm, toasty feels. Guaranteed HEA with no cliffhangers.

    ONE CRAZY NIGHT

    PROLOGUE

    ***

    Stacy

I awaken to the snuffling slumber of a man the world knows, but I met in person only hours ago. The fluorescent glow of streetlights and neon signs filters through the gauzy hotel curtain. His hand lies protectively over my hip, and I dare not move, or I’ll wake him.

I trace his features without so much as a touch. His tousled hair, the trim beard covering his sharp jaw, and the plump lips he ruthlessly devoured me with for hours into the night. I study the tattoos on his smooth chest, curious to know the meaning behind each one.

How long have they marked his body? What stories do they tell?

The white top sheet hangs loosely over his hip, barely covering a semi-hard swell protruding like a beacon. My mouth waters with the memory of his salty-sweet taste. My fingers itch to touch him, to glide over his muscled arms and chiseled chest. But red flashing numbers on the alarm clock over his shoulder warn me of the time and the irresponsible actions that swept me away in the heat of the moment.

I ease out from under his sprawling hand and slide off the bed, careful not to disturb him. I gather strewn clothes from the floor as I tiptoe to the bathroom and carefully close the door. The room’s nightlight casts an eerie glow over the mirror, illuminating my features in a less than flattering manner.

I wince as I pull on my skimpy clothes from last night’s concert. I’m a cliché, succumbing to the wooing promises of my rockstar crush. I was smitten pre-concert when he wrapped his hand around mine and drank me in with his dark, hope-filled eyes. But then he led me onto the moonlit balcony and hummed a tune in my ear while we danced at the afterparty. I wasn’t prepared to lose my heart.

At least I’ll keep my dignity intact, leaving before daylight. I’m doing us both a favor by avoiding unnecessary drama. I’m a faceless body in a string of cities to him. He’ll wake up grateful I’m gone. And there’ll be no one around to judge my walk of shame except the night manager on desk duty and me.

EIGHT AND A HALF MONTHS LATER

    CHAPTER 1

    ***

    Regis

Oh, come on, Regis. You don’t have anything better to do. Indigo tugs at my arm, plying me with her nagging and a failed attempt to manhandle me. You can’t laze around here all day.

Ask Booker or Jude. They’d love to spend the day peeking into people’s private spaces with you.

I toss the small town newspaper on the dinette table. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for Milo’s sister, Maggie. We’d be halfway across the states prepping for tonight’s concert. When Maggie dropped the news about her unexpected pregnancy and plan to marry at city hall, Milo petitioned the band to reschedule two tour dates.

Family’s important to him, and he had to be here to see his little sister marry. We’re out two concerts for what will amount to a five-minute ceremony, wasted rice on the courthouse steps, and a blushing bride with a bun in the oven. If it were anyone but Maggie, I’d say the whole thing is rigged.

Accidental pregnancies don’t just happen. When a woman’s biological clock starts ticking, she’ll do anything to secure a man’s DNA. I’ve learned this from experience. Plenty of women have tried their best to snag mine.

They’re helping Milo and Kat move furniture from their apartment to a storage locker. Indigo plops down on the bench beside me and rests her head on my arm. She’s trying to butter me up, but it won’t work this time. Aw, come on, Regis. I’ll buy you a proper coffee and treat you to a nice lunch. Anywhere you want.

Anywhere? I raise an eyebrow and shrug her off my shoulder. Ace of Spades in Sacramento?

She bunches her lips together and eyeballs me with a ridiculous mothering stare. I already know the answer, but if we’re in
