About this audiobook
The #1 New York Times bestselling author of Seeing Red presents a spine-tingling story of murder and betrayal in high society Savannah, where a homicide detective finds his career—and life—on the line.
When Savannah detective Duncan Hatcher is summoned to an unusual crime scene, he knows discretion is key. Influential Judge Cato Laird’s beloved trophy wife, Elise, has fatally shot a burglar. She claims self-defense, but Duncan suspects she’s lying, and puts his career in jeopardy by investigating further. Then, in secret, Elise makes an incredible allegation, which he dismisses as the lie of a cunning woman trying to exploit his intense attraction to her. But when Elise goes missing, Duncan finds that trusting the wrong person could mean the difference between life and death for both of them.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very nice story! Predictable, but you still keep wondering if you got it right! One thing I didn't like was narrator's interpretation of female voices- pretty annoying!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Thoroughly enjoyed this fast pace page turner! I highly recommend it!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I was struggling with this book for almost a year. The suspense part is actually quite good and it is the only reason I finally finished it. Really, there were few times when I was seriously thinking about giving up.
It's all because the romance part is so unrealistic and annoying. There are no feelings between Duncan and Elise. I just couldn't believe there is anything between them. Also, I like Duncan only in the slightest part and I completely don't care about Elise. They don't look real to me.
I was really disappointed, heard so many good things about this book. What a pity! - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5little too much sex and plot was a liitle hard to believe
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Reading a Sandra Brown novel is always an entertaining treat and "Ricochet" is no exception. The homicide detective partnership pairs Detective Sergeant Duncan Hatcher and Detective DeeDee Bowen with the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department. There is mystery, suspense, romance, betrayal, secrets, police investigations, and court room drama for a roller coaster reading experience filled with unexpected twists and turns. At the end of each chapter, I found myself saying, "just one more chapter."
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Enjoyable book. Enough twists, turns and suspense to keep me wanting to read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Wie immer spannend, ein bisschen erotisch und mit interessanten Hauptfiguren.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another good one from Sandra Brown, and I loved her cop characters, Duncan and his partner Dee Dee. I got really involved in it, but the ending had to be read twice, as, again with SB, various explanations had to be made, hastily at the conclusion.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This is a potboiler, with lots of action and with far too many steamy sex scenes. The detective as the main character is infatuated by a woman married to a judge whom the detective hates. There is no literary merit to the writing but the story unfolds so fast and furiously that the book is very easy to read. The locale is Savannah, GA. Much of the scenario is not credible but you probably won't guess every twist and turn. Requires little or no concentration.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This wasn’t Sandra Brown’s best, but it’s not her worst, either. The good was Brown’s ability to build suspense – she’s one of the best. But not all of the characters worked for me. Duncan was a little too ruled by his hormones, and sometimes had mood swings that didn’t make much sense. His partner, DeeDee, was essentially the stereotypical homely girl who automatically hates anyone who is pretty whether she has a reason to or not. Elise is intended to be a mystery. You’re never quite sure which side of the equation she’s on, even at the end. Also, the revenge plot that is the reason for everything made absolutely no sense to me. Without giving away too much, I don’t know what the person wanting revenge was thinking – they had no exit strategy. For a supposedly intelligent person, it was weak. But, Brown does make you think hard about who you suspect and why, and that’s one of the reasons why I read her books.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a book you do not want to miss. I always enjoy Sandra Brown books. This book was a real page turner.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was my first novel by Sandra Brown, and I was quite happy with it. I am especially happy that she has such an arsenal of books I can read. “Ricochet” has you guessing until the very end. It was an exceptional thriller. I would recommend this book to all. I cannot wait to read another by Mrs. Sandra Brown.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Police drama set in Savannah involving a detective, a judge, his wife, and a collection of unsavory characters....crossing and double crossing each other to a surprise ending. How wonderful to find a new author with so many books to her credit. Like finding money!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Judge Laird's trophy wife has shot a burglar. Duncan Hatcher has to figure it out. Good beach read.
