About this audiobook
Haunted by the little girl he couldn’t save from imminent danger, Holder’s life has been overshadowed by feelings of guilt and remorse. He has never stopped searching for her, believing that finding her would bring him the peace he needs to move on. However, Holder could not have anticipated that he would be faced with even greater pain the moment they reconnected.
In Losing Hope, Holder reveals the way in which the events of Sky’s youth affected him and his family, leading him to seek his own redemption in the act of saving her. But it is only in loving Sky that he can finally begin to heal himself.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Just started the book and am on Chapter 3. I really don’t like this guy narrating. He’s completely unbelievable. Thinking I may have to read the book rather than listen.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love that Holders POV. I learned so much about these characters. I laughed and cried. Great book!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I wasn’t sure what I thought of this one at first with the story repeating at times but of course there was so much added new details it made me love it! And I teared up as always!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Thank you for writing my story! Well not mine, but I experienced and fought the same demons.
I ugly cried during this read. Thank you for writing a story that the people who have lived it can’t even tell. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Didn’t love who was chosen as the narrator. Good book but his voice didn’t fit the character
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5“I used to think the best part of me died with Les, but the best part of me is standing right here in front of me." Dean Holder believes he has let down every important person in his life. Les is dead, Hope is missing, and his relationship with his father is shot following an altercation. Following the altercation Dean unexpectedly returns to his old life in hopes to “normalize” his life again. After everything he has been through what else could possibly go wrong in his life?
Losing Hope is the second book in the Hopeless series written by Colleen Hoover. The second book follows the same storyline as the first but is written through Dean Holders perspective of the situation. I am in love with Colleen Hoover’s style of writing. She keeps you wanting more the entire time. I gave this book 4 stars due to feeling as if I was re-reading the first book all over again. I didn’t like that I knew the whole way through what was going to happen next. There were a few twists along the way that were not mentioned in the first book that did make this slightly different. This book could be read on its own without reading the first book in this series. I will not hesitate to read the next in this series: Finding Cinderella.
Trigger Warnings: Suicide, Kidnapping, Sexual abuse, Assault, Childhood Trauma - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story is good, but the voice for Holder is TERRIBLE. He doesn't match the character at all and it was very difficult to get through.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Everytime I read her books they’re not about what I expect and I LOVE it! The variety and perspectives approached are some of my favourites.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Loved it! Lots of twists and turns!!!! ? ? ❤️
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5All her books are amazing !! Keep them coming !
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another amazing book by Colleen Hoover. I loved the twist, depth and ending. It goes through so many topics that are difficult for people to talk about but it was so real and honest that I kept sympathizing for anyone who has lived through.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Honestly this just felt like a retelling of book one. Did not bring much new perspective to the story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5*Sigh* Oh Dean Holder
Thank you Colleen for this I really enjoyed it
Honestly this version broke my heart a lil more than Hopeless, and when I reach to the moment where we know what we know about Les that broke my heart both times. But listening to Holder was way more heartbreaking
I love these characters. Daniel is so funny can't wait to move on to finding Cinderella. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I absolutely LOVE all of Colleen’s books! But this by far was my favorite! There’s so much detail and so much drama, romance, sadness, happiness-basically all the feels and all of her best writing all in this one book. I LOVE it!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow, what a great sequel! I had SO many questions when I finished HOPELESS and got all my answers.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The book it self was good but it kept skipping parts so I didn’t understand part of it
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The plot? Not much. The writing is intense and moving from first word to last.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was beautiful. Loved it. I don’t even know what to say besides that
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I have been in the process of reading all of CH books and this is by far my least favorite one..I just didn't like Deans character at all I can't put my finger on it other than his character just coming off creepy no matter how sweet it tried to talk him up to be..I did enjoy *some* parts of the book but I kept finding myself wanting to just not finish it, and the only reason I did was because my brain wouldn't let me halfass read. I guess i will say my favorite chapter is 61 but by then I was already over it to care that much! Glad the ending was good though
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5My heart is bleading because of this book. Hopeless was heard, but this one tore me apart. The story from Holder's eyes is so painfull and the narator is conveying those feelings beautifuly
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is so well written. The emotions you feel while reading/listening to story unfold. Love it!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another great book by Colleen Hoover! I really enjoyed this book!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I enjoyed this book but must warn people that reading it right after Hopeless is a bit too repetitive.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Jesus Lord. Dean Holder, you're my number one book boyfriend. Love that this book is his side of the first book. I thought a lot of it might be redundant, but the change is first person narrative kept it interesting.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I was surprised to find that I really loved reading this story from Dean's POV! The letters to Les just broke my heart!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Hopeless is one of my favorite Colleen Hoover books. I have been putting off reading this as I did not want it to take away from my love for the original story. I am not a huge fan of point of view retellings, but this was the exception.
I liked how you get so many details that you did not get in Hopeless. You get more details about the loss of his sister. He also writes Les letters. They were heartbreaking.
I just love Colleen Hoover and I cannot wait to pick up the final book in this series
