Author

Katee Robert

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Katee Robert learned to tell her stories at her grandfather's knee. Her 2015 title, The Marriage Contract, was a RITA finalist, and RT Book Reviews named it "a compulsively readable book." When not writing sexy contemporary or romantic suspense, she spends her time playing imaginary games with her children, driving her husband batty with what-if questions, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

What our readers think

Readers find this title to be a mixed bag. Some appreciate the chemistry between Hades and Persephone, the spice, and the overall story. However, others feel that the plot is lacking, the characters are interchangeable, and the narrators are not the best. While some readers enjoy the retelling of Greek mythology with a modern twist, others find it disappointing and lacking in depth. Overall, this book is a spicy read with a decent story, but it may not be for everyone.

Absolutely loved the entire thing! Even more than A Touch of Darkness. So so good and the character building and world I could totally imagine, great read! ?

Story was good. Smut was good - a lot of voyeurism, so, if you're into that, this is the book for you. Also, puppies. Overall, a cool take on the whole Hades & Persephone thing.

Boring, slow and pretentious ; caricature characters and dull dialogues just to fill the space, needless to say I disliked it strongly.

Consent and safety are super sexy. And I love how much he puts her comfort above anything else.

This plot could have been epic. The idea was there, but it’s like all the author wanted to add was spice. No details, no world building, no slow burn. Insta-love. Even the end was boring.

The narrators really killed it for me. So blah and monotone. Maybe it would’ve been better if I had read it.

If you're like me, where you enjoyed the sex scenes in Love Hypothesis, Hook Line and Sinker, etc. but wished there were more of them then this book is for you. The sex scenes are basically written porn, but it's also got a plot that keeps you interested and invested in the character's relationships. It gets a bit silly at times but I'm happy to look past those parts. All I can say is my husband has benefited greatly from me reading this one...

I liked Neon Gods from the get go! There was a great storyline and it kept me intrigued and didn’t go on about boring things like some retellings do. The main characters were likeable too

This was the perfect mix of spicy and plot. I do wish the book was longer and incorporated a little bit more story of their relationship. I loved how in the end family played a role.

I enjoyed the female narrator but only when she was portraying the female. The writing was okay. The author needs to learn some more descriptive terms. It was unnecessary to state the race of every character .

It was ok. The story was entertaining. There was no slow burn between the main characters, no conflict, they just jumped right into it, which made their relationship boring to me. Also the narrator makes Hades sound like an old goblin, especially when he laughs.

Not my favorite book, loosely related to gods. I liked this author so I didn't read the description of the book, might be my fault.

Truth to be told the spicy scenes in this book seemed vulgar compared with other spicy books, the epilogue was the same and the whole relationship lacked sincerity. Good to pass the time and have noise

I enjoy the story, just the voice of Hades feels too old. He is in his twenties but the person reading him is definitely not. Poor choice, there are other great male voices.
