About this audiobook
Introducing an instant classic--master storyteller Neil Gaiman presents a dazzling version of the great Norse myths.
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people. Gaiman stays true to the myths while vividly reincarnating Odin, the highest of the high, wise, daring, and cunning; Thor, Odin’s son, incredibly strong yet not the wisest of gods; and Loki, the son of a giant, a trickster and unsurpassable manipulator. From Gaiman’s deft and witty prose emerges the gods with their fiercely competitive natures, their susceptibility to being duped and to dupe others, and their tendency to let passion ignite their actions, making these long-ago myths breathe pungent life again.

New spin…
Neil Gaiman’s “Norse Mythology” adds flavor and flair to classic characters like Thor and Loki. Reading Gaiman's spin on these stories, I could imagine hearing them told around a crackling fire on a long, dark winter night. For anyone who enjoys classic mythology or simply needs a fix of Odin while waiting for the next season of “American Gods.”

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A lot of these stories I hadn't heard about since I'm not super familiar with norse mythology so I really enjoyed this. I listened to the audio book and Neil Gaiman's narration was really great as well. The stories themselves were interesting and at times unexpected turns were for sure taken. Fun time.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Con una extraordinaria narración, que además te permite ampliar vocabulario en Inglés. Compañero ideal para largos traslados. Esos Dioses les encantaba la copita...:
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I've recently started to watch the series Vikings and many the stories in this book sounds familiar because of it. Many of the stories have a funny side to them, especially being an MCU fan as well. I also find the narration quite entertaining, having the author read the book to you gives a much better understanding of the setting of the book, your able to hear what the author intended the words to sound like for his reader( I hope you understand)
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5NEIL GAIMAN is a god!! Only fitting that he retell the ancient myths of the Norse Mythologies and in with his narration magic, brings to life each and every god in all the stories he presents. This is how mythology was meant to be passed down, orally, and no one could have done a more fantastic job than he does!!!

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Series of short stories that retell tales of classic Norse mythology, focusing primarily on Odin, Thor, and Loki. Gaiman starts with the creation story, which provides the necessary background. I liked some stories more than others. They all seem to blend together after a while. I picked up the audiobook, which is nicely read by the author and feels like listening to a sequence of fairy tales.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed a little bit of history Great storytelling thank you
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I don't know what happened. I like mythology and love Neil Gaiman, yet somehow, this book just fell flat to me. It felt more like a slog than something akin to “The Monarch of The Glen.”
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Yes, very good job indeed. Thanks. Is this enough words yet
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I didn’t know what I was expecting coming into this but the journey that Neil Gaiman took me on was amazing. So visually descriptive and thought out. It’s a perfect quick read for anyone and I highly suggest the audiobook where he does excellent voices for each god (especially Thor). Can’t wait to look into more books by him and also examine the Marvel movies to see how much they took from the stories.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love how the story of the gods are written in this book. I read the book as I was listening to it. Neil makes it most interesting in his style of narration. With some of the stories that are very dark his way of telling it gives it light even in the story of Ragnarok. I loved it. I will listen to it again and again.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful telling of Norse mythology!! I loved the stories told by Gaiman, who is always at the top of his game.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Fun story, well put together from sporadic tales. If you live somewhere in northern Europe, you will recognize a few things for sure! I recommend trying it out.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I will have to try to read this book the audiobook was awful, I couldn't get through it the reader had a strange accent and miss pronounced a lot of important words.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Neil Gaiman is as good a narrator as he is a writer.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Captivating stories! Engrossing storytelling! I kept looking forward to my office commute just so that I could be swept away into this wonderful world. Easily the best fiction for me this year.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely enchanting version of Norse Mythology. I could not put it down!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It's a fascinating collection of norse tales that are easily read, but it wasn't what I was expecting as a diehard Gaiman fan. It's very different from his other books and I was hoping it to be more of the same. Ultimately, he has made these lesser known myths very easy to navigate and I enjoyed reading their wild interpretations of the world and how things came to be. Definitely one of the most original creation myths I've every read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A very interesting read, the author did a great job keeping it interesting throughout the whole book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5OK re-telling of Norse myths. I liked the glossary at the end.
