The forms and fibers of the natural world inspired Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvær’s Twine Mat (2023). Made by Heymat, its surface scrapes off dirt, mud, and moisture; a non-slip rubber backing keeps the mat in place. Neutral colors ensure it works in any interior. Mats may vary slightly in size, color and appearance due to the manufacturing process. Made in U.S.A.

Kristine Five Melvær

Oslo-based Kristine Five Melvær chose to study design “because I considered it the most interesting intersection between my creative and analytical skills.” She earned a master’s degree in industrial design from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design in 2008. Her work is an eclectic mix of graphic design, furniture, lighting, tableware, glassware, pillows, and blankets.
