Acronyms are often used by public and private agencies as timesaving, shorthand ways to communicate lengthy titles or basic concepts. This glossary provides a quick reference to the terms, acronyms and abbreviations commonly used by this Department.

  • Range

    Salary level within a schedule; each schedule is divided into a number of salary levels/pay ranges.

  • Reclassification

    Personnel action which changes a position's job class, usually upward, in recognition of changed duties and/or responsibilities.

    Short term breaks for families or other members taking care of a disabled or elderly adult or children at risk.
