BBC's Rachel Burden fumes 'I'm done with this malarkey' in shock 'goodbye' post - as gutted fans plead 'stay, you'll be missed'
BBC Breakfast's Rachel Burden admitted ‘I’m done with this malarkey’ as she bid farewell to her social media followers in a ‘goodbye’ post.
The 49-year-old, who is a weekend presenter on BBC Breakfast, took to X to reveal that she's decided to quit the social media platform.
The TV star took to her account on Monday afternoon to share the decision with her 103k followers.
Rachel confessed: 'I think I’m done with this malarkey for now.
'Goodbye friends. Goodbye bots. Stay safe out there.
'(For some radio/dog/at home/in the wild content - find me on Blue sky or Instagram).'

Many rushed to reply to the tweet and share their heartbreak.
One replied: 'Don't go please stay.'
Another wrote: 'Don't go!'
A third echoed: 'Of course your decision Rachel, but for me here you’ll be missed.'
However others were understanding of her decision, with another adding: 'Don't blame you at all,' and 'it has become a mad house.'
Rachel appears to have not deactivated her X account yet as it is currently still available to see.
The journalist joined BBC Breakfast in 2015.
Over the years she's had a very successful career and has presented the BBC Radio 5 Live weekday breakfast show since 2011.
Rachel started off her career at BBC Radio Suffolk and later joined the team at BBC Radio Bristol.

Just days before quitting X, Rachel reflected on what happened in 2024.
Rachel wrote alongside a snap of some beautiful flowers: 'Bring it on 2025.
'Also saw some white narcissus flowering in Devon.
'The weather may be s**t, the politics is toxic, and it’s back to work/school tomorrow (unless you’re there already)… but we’re on the upward curve to Spring.
'Join us @bbc5live breakfast @gordonsmart.'
Rachel regularly posts on Instagram and at the start of the year shared some wholesome pictures from her festive break.
In one she smiled with a Cornish pasty and hot drink in hand, with others featured her loved ones.
She wrote: 'In which Christmas and New Year and my birthday all got mixed up - featuring all of my favourite things and my favourite people.
'Also working my way through my #50Things list including no. 2 - the champagne cowrie hunt, no. 35 - binge watching a whole tv series while lying in bed and eating crumpets, and no. 39 - the ongoing search for the perfect cinnamon bun.
'Happy 2025.'
Her BBC Breakfast co-stars took to her comments section to share their best wishes.
Jon Kay said: 'Love it, Rach. Happy EVERYTHING! X.#'
Meanwhile Naga Munchetty added: 'Happy everything you brilliant woman! Xxx.'
