Her looks, masterminded by her long-time stylist Sinead McKeefry, very much lean into the countrycore aesthetic befitting the show's Scottish castle setting - 'Ronnie Corbett meets Princess Anne meets that phase when Madonna suddenly found the countryside through Guy Ritchie', as Winkleman has described it.

Mindy Kaling, Ashley Graham, Eiza Gonzalez and Dakota Fanning arrived to the 82nd Annual Golden Globe awards in style.  Mindy wowed in a strapless gold frock, highlighting her slim frame, as she hit the red carpet for the awards show at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile Ashley showcased her ample cleavage in a plunging black gown with a voluminous skirt.

Radio 1's Greg James left his fans baffled after posting a bizarre statement about quitting the Breakfast Show on Sunday.  The DJ,  39, who has hosted the flagship morning show since 2018, took to Instagram with a lengthly statement in which he complained about the BBC being 'under corporate control' Fans of the show were horrified as they scrolled through the lengthy statement before realising it was all a joke ahead of Greg's return to the airwaves on Monday following Christmas.

Steven Gerrard 's daughter has announced her first pregnancy with boyfriend Lee Byrne, the son of jailed Irish gangster notorious Liam Byrne. The 20-year old confirmed her pregnancy in an Instagram post on Sunday evening - meaning her former Liverpool and England footballer father, whose birthday is on May 30, will be just 44 when then child is born. Sharing a photo of her positive pregnancy test, she wrote: 'Our little secret. The best news... mini us is on the way.'

Britain has been hit by an Arctic blast this weekend causing vehicle collisions, road closures and flight cancellations while many trains are also delayed. Families and dog walkers made the most of the wintry first weekend of 2025, with hillsides thronged with children out sledging. Germany's foreign minister has pushed back against claims of a 'handshake scandal' after Syria's de facto leader refused to shake her hand because she is a woman.  Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, a former jihadist, chose not to shake hands with Annalena Baerbock at a meeting in Damascus.  He did, however, gesture towards Jean-Noël Barrot, France's male foreign minister.

Former Ru Paul's Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne shared a heart-wrenching social media post just days before their tragic death at the age of 32. News of the talented drag artist's death was announced across social media on Sunday evening - with tributes pouring in for the star. A cause is yet to be established. Confirming the news on Instagram, The Vivienne's publicist Simon Jones wrote: 'It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved James Lee Williams - The Vivienne, has passed this weekend.

Locals in Blackpool fear London based buy-to-let landlords looking to double their money could 'finish off the town.' Shocking footage shows at least eight robbers, all dressed in black, targeting the tech giant's store in the Brent Cross shopping centre in north London. A sea of shoppers, including parents with young children, could be seen dramatically fleeing the Apple store as the mob ripped out expensive devices around them. It took just 24 seconds for all members of the gang to race into the shop and leave with the stolen goods. The Met Police says it has since arrested six youths between the ages of 14 and 18 on suspicion of robbery. A disturbing video of a drowning horse has sparked a vicious feud between a reality TV show family. The video, posted on December 26, by Terra Ward - the daughter of late star of the History Channel series Ice Road Truckers Darrell Ward - has sparked massive attention online.

This is the adorable moment a dog that was rescued from a shack in the Thai jungle saw snow for the first time. Rusty, who had been chained up all his life, was met by an unexpected blanket of white when he went outside at his new home in England this morning.  He was clearly a little taken aback at first and can be seen sniffing the snow before gingerly taking his first steps.

According to UK-based design expert Benji Lewis, the kitchen seen in the recently released trailer for Meghan Markle's (pictured) upcoming cookery show features 'minimal fuss but beautiful detail like the panelled walls in the staircase hall, the arts and crafts style cut out detail in the balustrading of the secondary staircase, and the bevelling on the kitchen door cabinetry for example'. Describing this style, he suggested that 'the vibe of the interiors Meghan has chosen to showcase herself against speaks completely to the recent quiet luxury trend'.

The Royal Family vary in height - the future King stands the tallest at over six foot while his cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, are the shortest. Prince Harry falls just an inch shorter than Prince William, and both brothers tower over their father, King Charles. Some heights are not known, though it is possible to estimate when comparing to other royals. At six foot tall, Peter Phillips stands marginally shorter than Arthur Chatto, who MailOnline estimates to be 6ft 1".

For generations of Star Trek fans, it was the nimble fingers of Scotty that ensured Captain Kirk and his comrades were beamed up just in the nick of time.

So, modern day Trekkies may be surprised to learn that James Doohan, who played Kirk's dour chief engineer in the original series, went to great lengths to hide the fact that he was actually missing a digit.

The star had to have his middle finger amputated after being hit by 'friendly fire' during during the D-Day Normandy landings in June 1944. Desperate to hide this fact, he performed his duties on the Star Ship Enterprise with his hand concealed or was 'hand doubled' by a fellow actor. For other appearances, he wore a flesh-coloured glove with a fake digit to reassure fans the star ship was in safe hands. Eagle-eyed Trekkies have spotted Doohan's missing finger in less composed shots, including the 1967 'Cats Paw' episode and 1967's 'The Trouble with Tribbles'.

After nailing a 34-yarder during Sunday's season finale, Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey returned to the field to handle the kickoff. Seemingly trying to hit a low line drive, the ball awkwardly came off Aubrey's foot - but the lack of accuracy and power was not the end of the story.

Holidaymakers, including young tourists, and most recently an EU diplomat, have fallen victim to the jaws of the lurking predators in fatal incidents which has left many questioning how safe a trip to the sunny Egyptian coast really is. Last year a Russian tourist was circled and savagely dragged underwater by a bloodthirsty tiger shark as he screamed 'Papa! Help me!'. Two families were left distraught last week when an Italian EU diplomat was mauled to death in front of his wife as his friend fought off the beast in an unsuccessful effort to save him. But the tragic incidents stretch back over a decade, as in one bloody accident, a woman had a chunk of her buttock torn from her body when a shark launched its violent attack in popular Sharm El Sheikh. The Red Sea is a major tourist destination whose marine life make it popular with divers and Marsa Alam is an Egyptian coastal town known for its coral reefs and beaches. But deadly shark attacks are a near-yearly occurrence in the Red Sea, where marine experts warn unregulated construction, overfishing, and irresponsible tourism practices contribute to changing the ecosystem and shark behaviour.

Residents in Haden Cross Drive, in Cradley Heath, West Midlands, have been living a landslip-related nightmare since March last year when a wall gave way. Now many of the locals have been left unable to reach their own driveways by car after the recent bad weather caused tons of earth to slide down and block the cul-de-sac. This has forced around a dozen homeowners to park their cars away from their £400,00 houses and trapse up to 100 metres through their neighbours' gardens. But that is the least of their concerns, with some now worried their homes could be soon be consumed by the next mudslide.

Without a doubt, one Premier League fixture that always lives up to expectations is a clash between Liverpool and Man United.  Though it may not technically count as a derby - due to the locations of both clubs - it's a rivalry that fails to disappoint and almost always delivers in entertainment value.  Liverpool claimed a 3-0 victory in their first clash of the campaign, as Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah combined to sink a United side coach by Erik ten Hag at the time.

Footage shows Attalah Younes, 24, on New Year's Eve as he lit the firework and fired it at an apartment building in the Berlin suburb of Neukoelln. The firework crashed through the closed window on the third floor and exploded inside, with the room seemingly catching fire. No one was injured as a result of the exploded firework and only the carpet and some furniture in the room was damaged, German tabloid Bild reports. The video of Younes caused outrage in Germany after more than 10 million watching the tourist from Nablus, West Bank, playing around with the fireworks. Younes, who only speak Arabic, claims he was the victim of racist attacks after the video went viral. He was arrested at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport on Saturday, ahead of his 5.55pm flight to Jordan.

Niall Harbison (pictured, inset) an Irish man living in Thailand has devoted his life to rescuing street dogs - and has recently shared the story of one of those pooches, Alba (pictured left and right). According to Niall, who rescued the animal some 36 hours ago, she is not out of the woods yet. However, the remarkable transformation she has made since being saved by his charity Happy Doggo has left many optimistic about her chances.
