She had been drinking locally in Wandsworth since 1.00pm with commercial and chancery counsel boyfriend Benjamin Waistell, 33, but they had had a row and she found herself locked out of his home in Cromford Road. Milligan, who is attached to Essex Chambers and attended Newcastle-upon-Tyne's Royal Grammar School, has pleaded not guilty to racially-aggravated assault in the early hours of May 1, 2022.

Storm Eowyn brought chaos to Britain today as dramatic videos showed planes struggling to land in record-breaking winds and wheelie bins blown across streets. One extraordinary clip captured a miraculous escape when a man narrowly avoided being hit by a falling roof tile in his garden in the Andersonstown area of Belfast. Other videos showed TV presenters struggling to stand up while delivering reports, garden trampolines being blown away and telegraph poles dancing in the winds. It comes as the storm caused mayhem across the British Isles with 114mph winds axing 1,000 flights across the UK and Ireland and halting all trains in Scotland. Rare red warnings were issued for Scotland and Northern Ireland as the storm posed a danger to life - damaging buildings, uprooting trees and causing power cuts.

Former footballer Joey Barton pushed his wife to the floor before kicking her in the head during a drunken row at their family home, a court has heard, after the pair were seen at the trial together. Barton, 42, is accused of assaulting Georgia Barton, 38, in Kew, south-west London in June 2021, where they had been drinking with two other couples while their children slept upstairs. The former football player is alleged to have drunk up to five bottles of wine before launching an assault on Mrs Barton, leaving her with a 'golf-sized' lump on her head and a bloody nose. He was pictured outside Westminster Magistrates' Court this morning for a new hearing after a previous trial was halted in 2022 when Mrs Barton retracted her claims.

Kate Moss reunited with not one but two of her exes on Thursday night as she partied in London.  The model, 51, was attending the birthday party of close friend and fellow model Rosemary Ferguson at Kensington's Rooftop Gardens when she bumped into ex-husband Jamie Hince and former flame Jefferson Hack - with whom she shares daughter Lila.  Kate looked incredible on the outing as she modelled a plunging black dress that was slashed to the naval and featured silver embellishment on the seams.

NEW The Traitors winner Meryl Williams has revealed she plans to undergo more cosmetic surgery.  Meryl, who appeared on the first season of the hit BBC show, first went under the knife aged 16 for a breast reduction after her natural 32FF chest left her extreme back pain.  In 2023, she spent £7,500 of her £33,000 share of The Traitors prize money to pay for a forehead reduction.

University lecturer Claire Butler (left, main), 48, was found fatally wounded in the street in the West Hoe area of Plymouth on Wednesday night. Devon and Cornwall Police launched a large-scale manhunt for 53-year-old Paul Antony Butler (inset) after naming him as a suspect in her death - before arresting him on Thursday night on suspicion of murder around 20 miles away in Liskeard. In a statement issued confirming his detention, the force said it would be referring itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) because Ms Butler had been known to officers prior to her death.

Nick Dixon, 53, was reporting to presenters Kate Garraway , 57, and Adil Ray , 50, from the Scottish coastal town of Largs on Friday morning to talk about the current red weather warnings. Kate and Adil explained to viewers that millions have been urged to stay at home as the storm could bring 'potentially life threatening winds with it.'

Now, an expert has revealed the meaning of this mysterious inscription, which she thinks was made as recently as the early 1950s.

Illegal immigrants are fleeing the streets of Philadelphia as Donald Trump promises the biggest deportation in US history.  Faced with threats made by the 47th president to carry out mass deportations of immigrants, the thriving African population living in south-west Philadelphia's Africatown neighbourhood now live in fear of what Trump's policies might mean for them.  Speaking to Sky News, an anonymous migrant who fled political persecution said: 'There's fear. It's in your head, it's stuck with you. Even when you get out there and you find someone staring at you, you're concerned. Who are they? Did someone tell on me?'.

A stubborn man who turned down a £180,000 relocation package from the government to leave his home has expressed his regret after a motorway was built around his house. The roof of Huang Ping's two-storey home in Jinxi, China is now almost level with the motorway that is currently under construction.  Huang - who lives with his 11-year-old grandson - said he now spends his day in the town centre to avoid the construction site, and only returns home when the builders have clocked off for the day.

The royal world has been left reeling this week after Prince Harry dramatically decided to settle his long-running case against The Sun's publisher for around £10million. In a move that was widely seen as a victory, News Group Newspapers (NGN) offered an 'unreserved apology' to the Duke of Sussex for using private investigators to snoop on him. It was a theatrical end to Harry's long-running legal battle, as the publisher admitted private investigators used by The Sun between 1996 and 2011 had used unlawful methods to find out information about him.
