Rachel Wigmore (left), 24, and partner Jacob Wyles, 26, were told The Old Thatch in Hailsham, East Sussex, had one bathroom and an en-suite. 'It was a lovely cottage, very cute and cosy. A quick-thinking call handler has been praised after a woman fearing for her safety was able to communicate with officers after dialling 999 'to order a pizza'.  At the beginning of the call, the woman initially asked for a pizza but Pippa Harvey's swift actions helped her decipher something was awry.  After the caller began discussing pizza, Ms Harvey swiftly queried: 'Do you require pizza delivery or do you require the police? If it's the police say yes.'

This is the shocking moment an Italian model was attacked by an octopus as he swam in the sea before making friends with the eight-legged sea creature.  Milan-based model Federico Cola was on holiday in the Seychelles when he encountered the beast.   In a video shared to his Instagram account, Cola can be seen bathing in the Indian Ocean when suddenly an octopus emerges from the water and wraps its tentacles around him.

Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has been banned from driving for six months despite claiming it would cause her 'exceptional hardship'. The 34-year-old said her boyfriend Robbie Talbot was driving her Audi when it was caught speeding twice in Merseyside in June last year. She appeared at Wirral Magistrates' Court on Wednesday charged with two counts of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver. Magistrates said they were not satisfied a ban would cause Flanagan, who already had six points on her licence, exceptional hardship and also ordered her to pay a £2,000 fine, £800 victim surcharge and £110 prosecution costs. Flanagan said the remote location of her Bolton home meant she would 'really struggle without a car'.

Spanish entrepreneur Xavi Caballol, 49, and his partner, Alba Serch, were involved in a horrific crash at Viladamat aerodrome in Girona on October 19 last year. The shocking accident, which was caught on camera, happened after the engine on Xavi's private ultralight aircraft stalled during a manoeuvre. The couple then plunged from a height of 150 feet which saw injuries between them including a broken vertebrae and other broken bones - Xavi also fractured his skull, causing a loss of mobility in part of his face.
Now, Xavi and Alba are undergoing a gruelling path back to rehabilitation.

The unnamed British woman, 62, is reported to have crashed head-on into a 35-year-old British man on the Aiguille Rouge slope after losing control of her skis. Emergency services rushed to the mountainside and paramedics tried to resuscitate her, but tragically she was pronounced dead at the scene. The man she collided with had been stationary at the time after he had stopped on a 'bump' below the main track, officials said. An investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident has been launched by alpine police. The woman is the fifth person since 2008 to have lost their life skiing or snowboarding on the notorious slope - which industry experts described as 'tough' and 'strictly for strong skiers' - or off the piste, where avalanches regularly hit after large snow dumps.
